Hi all,

I recently purchased a twin carb manifold + triumph su carbs for my mazda capella. Bolted it all on today and its having some trouble starting. It started once and ran till I turned it off due to the fact that I have straight exhaust pipes at the moment and my neighbours wouldnt be too happy. But since then it just wont turn over, the original manifold had hoses galore for various vacum pipes but the new one doesnt, I have plugged up all of the holes and cant really figure out whats wrong, is it possible that the settings on the carbs arent correct, or would it be something more obvious?

what do you mean it wont turn over?? like the engine turns over but wont start? or wont turn over at all. that is more serious.

when it was running how was it running? as a guess(well ive done the same thing before) the carbs were running too rich and fouled the plugs, hense why it wont start change the plugs and have another play

It trys to start but wont, like the starter motor is going. I'm fairly sure at this stage that the fuel is running really rich, do you think I should clean the plugs and adjust the fuel/air mixture? Also I realised there was no oil in the air intake pistons (if thats what their called)

yes it ran with the old carb, I cracked the thermostat cover last night aswell! Another theory why it isnt working is that the old manifold had hoses galore coming off it and the new manifold doesnt really have any places to mount them, I believe most of them are vaccum but honestly dont know
