Hey mate, welcom to farkin. Have you looked at the Norcos, 125 or 250 if you want to go single speed. Also STP 1s are good, Commencal Absoluts, Eastern Night Train (single speed) but if your just jumping and riding street, you don't really need gears. Hope this helps.

wow. that was the stupidest thing i have ever heard. probably the most ironic thing i have ever heard.. you tell him to use his brain by talking as though your from the jungles of borneo and just started learning english. calm down man your always so angry mr. brent. just because you have had a shitty day doesnt mean it gives you a liscence to pay everyone out and release your anger here.

Not sure the availability of them but the Revell Throttle - 26" is about $1500 or less. Cro mo, Dj Pro forks and Sram 9 speed. We sold one today, a sweet dj ride, gears or not.

Fark kid, are ya picky enough?
If you would like us to help you out, at least give us some god damn info, and writing a nicely grammarised paragraph or 2 isn't going to kill ya. So far you have set a $1600 budget for a geared Dj/Street bike; and since you have asking for some advice, we've given you some. If you want good value for money, the STP series is right up your alley, if you want something a little different (but still rides good), go for the Revell, P2, Norco 125 etc. But if you truly want to get the best Dj/Street bike you can for 1600, get a singlespeed (Norco 250, Commencal Absolut Chromo etc) and buy it secondhand!! Some of the secondhand bikes for sale on here are 2008 models that have barely been riddin, and won't be beaten for value - seeing as you will be paying less.
If you are having trouble seeing past gears, sit the 'rents down, and talk to them, tell them that gears are just another quick-breaking part on a bike, and won't be neccasary given your chosen genre of riding. They can't be that stiff (and don't tell us they are).
So my advice for a <&1600 DJ/Street bike -> Go singlespeed, and consider some of the bangers for sale here. Or go BMX :D! Best value for money, period.
Oh, and welcome to Farkin ;)
