Most 4x specific DS bikes get pretty expensive (Intense Tazer, Yeti 4x), also consider transition double, kona cowan DS, turner rail, santa cruz blur 4x or heckler. thats all i can think of for now..

Have a look at an Arrow. Barnsy is bringing them in. Frame is awesome 4X, DS specific with great handling. Build quality (US boutique hand made) and performance is as good as the others mentioned, I think the geometry is better and they are heaps cheaper. Everyone that has ridden mine loves it. Designed for 24" wheels but 26" fits OK (what I am running) back suspension will do 2.5" (good for BMX and acceleration), 3.5" (rougher 4x tracks) or 4.5" (I use for freeride/DH). Also one of the few dualies you can run as single speed if you choose. Mine and I believe Barnsy's should be at all NSW state and National 4X rounds if anyone wants a look/play....

Check out this (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330226321635&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=014) frame I have for sale. It would fit the bill.

I own a Specialized SX and it is just amazing for 4X. It handles so well and the suspension design is great in my opinion.

It is a do everything bike though, can do Cross Country, 4X, DJ, slope stlye and even some pretty extreme slope style as in Whistler. I highly recommend these frames, they are amazing and you will not be disappointed. If you have any questions about I am happy to try and help.
