Hey Farker, I was just wondering if you can take forks apart to paint them, If possible does it effect the preformance of the fork, Is it hard to do and better of getting a LBS to do it and is worth doing and painting yourself. I have searched the forum and there is nothing. PLEASE HELP

Never tried doing that, but i would just leave the forks the way they are.

if you pull them apart, so you just have the lowers and tape were the stanction (sp?) goes in you should be able to spray them any colour without effecting the performance.

depends on the fork as to how easy it is (to pull apart). There is a pretty full-on thread about painting bike frames on farkin (somewhere, search for it...) If you dont prep it right the paint will peel and flake off pretty quick (if you use spray paint) and will have your forks looking shitter than a haircut done by your mum. if you want it to look pro, go to a smash repairer or the like.

just make sure you tape up the holes where the stanchions go into. if you dont your forks will be screwed. what type of forks are they?
Get them powder coated if they are worth the money fork lowers are normally around about $80 i know that because my mate got his pike's done
