is it me or is it a common problem for hussefelts pedal inserts to strip? i have just gone through my 3rd set of cranks and i am getting fed up with it. i keep buying hussefelts because i think they are the only ones that fit my internal bb on my sasquatch frame.... anyone?

Nope mine work fine are you buying them from the one place each time, As where you are buying them from could have got a whole container full of doggy stock and not relise.

You could just rethread them

husslefelts are known to do this, even through i thought it was just the oldermodels.

if its an ISIS bb, any ISIS cranks will fit.

true, but false at the same time :), yes any ISIS cranks will fit, BUT they have to clear my frame :), and husseys are the only ones i can find, Rucktions don't and yeah.... i am thinking about buying holzfellers...... do they have the same bend (is that what is it called) to clear the frame.....

space them properly.

what other cranks have you tried, i find it highly unlikly that husslefelts are the only cranks that fit.

ruktions, ruktions - (don't clear frame unless external bb), hussefelts, hussefelts, hussefelts, and some other truvativ one, so not really a variety, and what doe you mean by spacing? i have a E-13 and its all setup with the husseys and runs well apart from this problem :(, could you please reccommend me some cranks that should fit a ISIS and clear my sassy frame.... and thanks for all the help so far sawtell :)

it happened on my 07 bigfoot aswell, i got the cranks replaced under warranty and never happened again that was about december. Maybe they fixed it because now theres extra writing on the arms talking about "powered by sram"

Yeah my (older) Hussfelts did this, tried to get them replaced under warranty but got told "If they start to come loose the warranty is void".As I'd heard a few similar stories,I usually strongly recommend against buying these, althoguh I don't know if any of the others are better. My LBS recommended gluing (expoxy) them back together at one stage.

I didn't know that there are replaceable/re-machinable inserts, will have to check out.Gotta rebuild my rear shock as well, so trying to keep $$$ down.

i thought we were talking about pedal instert's here? not spline crank interface?

i can understand not giving warratny on the spline/crank interface as it is said in about every manual, check and tighten bolts before and after every ride., if it works loose its your fault, its not the products. (to an extent)

but the pedal insert's i would say it HAS to be manufacturing/design issue, as there is no way a user can influence them coming loose and pulling out .. stripping the thread on the other hand...

Uh, pedal inserts, my fault, just....ignore me

Didn't read properly with my eyes. After destroying several cheap sets I "always" tightened, of course I might have missed one or two. Anyway.
