You need more money, especially if you plan to custom build something.

Upwards of $1500 would get you something nice second hand.

Mate a cheap build is about double your price to spend. you are better off buying a complete bike and saving some more and doing it up. Unless you save to about $1500 you don't have much options.

even if he does save to that and builds something custom he will still be better of buying complete because the build will be crap IMO. if you want a decent bike that your building from ground up i reckon you need about 2000 to about 2500 but depends what you splash out on. if not your better off buying a complete. check out the new 250, perfect for DJ and you wont need to change much if anything at all on it.

yea thats completely true. you can't really even get a good complete for 700 dollars. I would say save and have a look in the for sale section.

Agreed. Thing is he has an '08' STP and wants to upgrade parts. He wants to buy new forks, wheels (Eventually) and anything else he wants. He is just mainly asking for assistance as to what he should buy, even though he didn't really say that.

He only just bought the bike so he won't be buying another, so yeah if you street guru's could help him out that would be great, because as you can see I don't ride street/park.

ok then. well i would start off with a new set off wheels, changes the feel of a bike completely, something like mavic 721's with hope pro II hubs, get some argyles then some bmx style cranks i say! then if he wants to change bars and all that i would do it later. get the big things knocked over first if you know what i mean because you would notice the performance of the bigger things before the little things.

well thats what i think.

Yeah I would say...

Forks: Rock Shox Argyles
Wheels: Mavic 721's, or MTX's on Hope Pro II's
Handle Bars: Diety White (He wants them)
Stem: Diety White (He wants them)
Brakes: Avid Juicy 5 or 7, or Shimano Saints or something really decent, but only one.

That will do you for now Timmy boy. If you do that your bike should be looking a lot better than it is, and remember you can sell your old (but new) parts to put money towards to the new parts.
