What would you do?

Hey,
basically to sum it up i wanted to turn my bike into a DH bike but i bought the forks and they didnt fit my headtube. so the options are

pay $570 to get them cahnged over but then the bike isnt completely set up for downhill.
buy a new frame and take parts off my old bike and chuck the forks on and buy other bits and pieces
BUY A NEW BIKE! but then i am left with the forks


so as you can see i am in a bit of a pickle...any help would be sweet as!

AND, what would be the new bike if you did get a complete new one?

you could always sell the forks as well

exactly how dont they fit? is it steerer 1.5" and not 1 1/8" or just the length?

i would just get a new frame and make it a bit of a project to upgrade
all the other stuff but at least it will be ridable

the steerer is 1.5 and i need a 1 1/8''.

i would sell the bike and the forks then buy a proper dh bike.
