So we have some of the best riders in the world in Perth ATM and we don't know where they are riding. I heard Grant Allen and Johhny Waddell and Co were all out at "The Goatfarm" on Thursday (no Johhny wasnt riding), so I'm asking, begging if any knows where they will be next and when?

some people do know where they are riding, said people do not know ifthey are allowed to release information due the the freight train not wanting alot of people.

could 'said' people tell me in the knowledge that i won't tell anyone else? and if you dont know if your allowed to or not, then we'll just assume you ARE until told otherwise

sorry man, "said" people told other "said" people that "said" information would not be released ""

man, i would love to kick 'said' person number one in the nuts for not allowing 'said' person number two to tell 'said' people number 3.

alas, suc is life. looks like im gonna have to put some effort in and look for them myself. does anyone knowif theres like a signing day, where all the riders meet and mingle with us regular mortals?

surely they aint going to sneek in and sneek out.
wouldnt allowing mere mortals to meet n watch them be a good idea for sponsors etc and encouraging the sport???

The last thing Red Bull and it's riders want is punters turning up at a location on the day of filming. I understand not everyone's a punter, and there will be alot of local talent missed, but unfortuantly for both insurance and annoyance issues, the schedule will be kept quiet.
You'll just have to wait ever so patiently for the vid / dvd's / tv broadcast etc... For those lucky enough to bump into the 'Freight Train' as it's heads across the lands, i salute you.

I think that's exactly what they plan on doing.

wouldnt a demo session for the fans be a good idea though. have the riders hit up balcatta bmx track one night or something.

seem ridiculous to me if there isnt a thing for the fans. were not allowed to meet them but were expected to go out n buy the videos etc.

yay dont arise intrest in the local mountain bike scene and show off your sponsors at the same time.

So what's the diffrence between this and the Red Bull Ride huh?
That wasn't a spectator event!!!
Oh and if I was one of the pros reading your post...
I wouldn't want to meet you

no, i understand rik. if i were an organiser i wouldn't want a boat load of 'punters' to flood the stage whilst filming an international TV event. but it is very secretive though isn't it, i mean i didnt even know they were in perth until i saw the pics at 3chillies, which aren't even official pics, just one of the blokes at Perth MTB takin' happy snaps. you seem to know a bit about whats going on, do you know if there is a meet the riders type of thing? im anxsious to know, and they better not just do it in the big cities, us perthites miss out on all the good stuff. but there is a good chance i'll make to the bike trade show in october over your side of the country :D

sorry about the double post, but....

the difference is that they are moving around a lot and would have the chance to get to meet alot of the locals and fans at the same time, rather than being in the middle of the utah dessert. and other redbull events like the one in lisbon, and several of the bike battles were spectator events...and ALOT, if not most of the snowboarding are spectator events, same as the diving, etc....my opionion is that the riders and organisers should make an effort to meet and greet the people who will be buying the product. they are elite athletes, but you dont see ian thorpe running aruond and swimming in secret all the time, or many other elite athletes for that matter.

I'm a bit disapointed in the situation myself.I'd say the Redbull Freight Train thingo was more business than promotion.

Hence why i used the 'Red Bull Ride' as an example, as Jindabyne isn't exactly 'the stix'.
and i'm Mikhail aka Squid... not Rik! He's too busy drinking right now to post

I'm in the same boat, and am stuck behind a desk, instead of being out there enjoying the show... live with it

get over yourself. if people dont want you to see them than they dont want you there alright. how thick are you. if they wanted spectators/fans they woulds ay so.. here are the facts mate. they are filming for a show/movie/production and they dont want people there. does hollywoood thingos want spectators everywhere? nooooo dont think so. dont think your going to get higher moral ground. its their thing so leave them alone.

im not bagging the riders and i dont think just because they didnt have spectators at other rides it make not having them on this ride any more resonable.

I definately agree that locals should not be riding anywhere near the filming or with the pros. im saying i think there should be an oppertunity for fans to VIEW them under the control of the organisers. if they have come all this way, and they are role models i presumed it would be the done thing.

it would HELP MOUNTAINBIKING IN THE STATE to do it, seeing as the local mountainbikers are probably helping them out greatly.
