Hey
Each week i get a txt reading,
'Hi,your ringtone of the week has been sent to your mobile, $3.95 including gst will be deducted from you account. To unsubscribe visit MFun WAP menu (charges apply)'

So basically i would like to take the opportunity to tell everyone how pissed off i am at these companies who sign you up for these things and charge ridiculas(sp) prices even when i didn't sign up to them or give them any form of permission so sign me up.

And i would also like to ask if anyone else has had this MFun problem and knows how to stop it?

Cheers

my sister had the same thing so she just rang up her phone server (3) and explained to them what was the problem and said that she didnt sign up to anything and they just took it off her bill and she never got any more.

Yeah I've had these before after not voluntarily subscribing to anything. I also rang my server (Optus) and they took it off my bill and said they'd put an end to it (and they did). First good thing Optus have done for me ever. I'd like to know who actually works for these companies though and comes up with these concepts? You would simply have to be a genuine fucking tosser to be doing it really.

Why?
Easy money from stupid kids.

For every one of you that cracks the shits at these things, there's a brainwashed mallrat that strongly believes in them, in order to remain popular with their friends.

Worked for Jamster, they've made enough money to afford a national television marketing campaign.

Common causes are also friends signing you up for these things;) E.g Gay chat hotline, a certain friend of mine recieved a few very suspicious txt messages:p

I wrote a letter of complaint when it happened a few years ago to me.

Jamster refunded me the credit spent- a new $20 note, direct from Germany.

Honestly I cannot feel a shred of sorrow for your stupidity. Nothing is free, remember that and be more circumspect in your dealings in future.

floodytellsitlikeitbloodywellis will send you a msg 3 times a week calling you a f#cking gullible goose in new and inventive ways unless you visit floodytellsitilikeitbloodywellis WAP service. Charges apply, $17.95 per msg.
Under 18s should consult their parents before using this service. Parents should smack their idiot phone obsessed children around the ears when asked.

International, mate. Those pricks are f***ing massive! You get them advertised all over Europe and also in Africa.

Too much pocket money for kids these days is the problem. WHen I was a teenager my mates and I would have to work our tits off in shitty jobs and we still had to club together to buy smokes and weed. Oh, and all this were nowt but fields. Of course fields in those days were different and they'd be measured in acres. Not like these new-fangled hectare thingy's. I blame Hitler personally. IF he hadn't cost us our empire we'd still be using proper measurements like furlongs, and leagues, and kids would be respectful and wimmen folk would no longer parade around like naked africans. Why I saw one young lady the other day and she was in short trousers! I never thought I'd see the like. Now where did I put my pills...

Yeah that's all well and good when the dealings are honest. I've however been billed for it when absolutely no consent was given to them by me. I have never texted or called any number in exchange for ringtones/wallpapers/fucking horoscopes/whatever, yet I'm copping a fee for it. Aside from the money I lost (before getting refunded), it really was an insult to be accused of buying stuff like that.

In my case I don't know whether it was a fault of the ringtone company or a fault of Optus, but I was charged without due reason. I do agree with you though, anybody who calls or texts any of the numbers on TV deserves to cop it.
