Does anyone know the Appin XC track well and want to ride there next weekend (Saturday 10th)?
I have the BMC 8 hour and wouldn't mind checking out the track in the coming weeks.

Is that near the Motorcross track? I'm up for a bit of an offroad ride.

I will not be there but here is some info you might find useful.

Map of the course I put on bikely.com:
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Wollongong-MTB-Club-XC-Course-Appin
Start in the top left hand corner and go clockwise. Market St doesn't actually go through as shown on map, approach along King and/or Burke St. Most of the course is single track and reasonably easy to follow. Every time we have been there so have other people and when we weren't sure of which way to go we just followed the tyre marks in the dirt.

It is a good track and worth doing a couple of laps of. Have fun.:D

Cheers,
CBG.

I do believe there will be a crew out at Appin next Saturday morning giving the track a bit of a tidy up for the 8 hour so if you are out riding there should be people around to give you directions.
You are most welcome to ride the track but just be aware of the guys and girls on the track.

I have heard that WMBC will be out for the next 3 weeks marking the tracks and a general spruce up of the tracks.

Dont forget to have a meal at the pub, or if you are in a rush, the bakery makes an unreal pie

Due to copping the flu late last week I didn't get down to Appin last Saturday.

If anyone is keen to hit it early this Saturday (17th May), let me know.

Sounds good although I hear that there is track work down there from about 9am. Did you want to go earlier??

Is this track anywhere near a train station? Or is someone able to give me a lift from Mascot?

The nearest train station is Campbelltown which is a 15 min drive. Appin is halfway between Campbelltown and Wollongong.

Before 9am doesn't exist for me on weekends! If they're doing trackwork i might give it a miss and ride elsewhere, I don't want to get in their way.

Just pay 10 bucks and race the 3 hour on sunday! You don't even have to race for 3hours, just go for a chill ride.

I'm keen for a spin around Appin. I think the track work isn't until 12 or so now.
