Hi mate. You won't find much in the way of available land arounf there and what you do find will certainly NOT be legal. The legalities are a very important point to consider, not only from the perspective of having jumps torn down, but also in terms of negative PR for our sport. There is great riding at Lucas Heighst which isn't far from Kingsgrove and from what I hera there's decent riding somewhere in Oatley which is also nearby. I'd say check in with the guys at The Bike Shed in Mortdale, they'll most likely be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck!

no drama's...that sounds fair enough...on the same topic of places to ride, is it ok to ride through council bush or parkland? or through grass parks (ie soccer fields, ? aslong as i don't build \ destroy anything in the process?

Oatley Park is off limits for off road riding. Its a shame, but as someone who grew up in the area, the park is in a pretty poor state after abuse and drought. However it is a shame the blame is seemingly being placed primarily on mountain bikes. Its an area that could have some small tracks put in properly that would have little impact on the natural environment (which is pretty trashed anyway) and be great for the local riders, but unfortunately it isn't going to happen.

So no one will stop you riding there, but the walking tracks are designated for walker alone, so better to leave it alone.

I haven't lived in Kingsgrove for years ... but there was an area just back of the roller skating rink (Kingsgrove nth) ... we called it the brick pits ... prolly gone now ... has been over 20 years ago ... bawahahahahaha.

you could always go for a search around wolli creek ... down pass / near bardwell park ... before tempe ... where it gets nice and manky ... or make some woodies and seshing the canal ... search in here for Beverly hills ... I think there is something there ... BMX wise ... but from memory a little bit of agro happening with thefts involved.

There are some pockets of bush / bushy gully near Bexley North ... near ish the public school aka ("Tim Cahill's School" )... and golf course ... but ... I wouldn't build in there, without having a chat to the neighbours ... you could prolly ride in there.

otherwise ... search for mortdale in here ... closes DJs I know near-ish you.

If you want to range out even further ... then there is Carss Park and Oatley Park ... I don't think these are legit ... but I haven't seen any signs saying no riding ... I wouldn't build in these parks but your can ride around if your desperate.

All of these suggestions are exploration stuff ... prolly not worth it, you'd have to be really desperate ... but hell its hopefully near home.

Alternatively, learn to ride street, get a roadie or drive a couple hours like the rest of us :D

Good luck

*edit ... can Oately ... just read Moggio's comments ... that place is prime for a track ... along the water and near the cliffs ... shame

There are some pretty good dirt jumps at Mortdale.
Just ask the guys at the Bike Shed (Bike shop at Mortdale) for directions to get there.
