G'day fellow farkiners,

Just a quick question in regards to sending stuff via Aus Post, what are the dimensions of the 3kg parcel post sachels? I would imagine that express and normal would be the same dimensions? If they're big enough, I can send my items that way, otherwise I'm off to make a parcel that's immeasurable size wise so they can only go on weight.

Thanks in advance :)

The 3kg satchel is 405mm (L) x 310mm (H)

Do ya reckon you could fit a bmx tyre in there? I could kinda twist it into it, but would it damage the metal ring (don't know name) i think it's bead? of the tyre?

No you won't fit a BMX tyre in there... I tried :(

Your best bet for sending tyres is to simply put it in a garbage bag then tape it up and stick an address label on it.

Hahaha naww sad lil FoxRidersCo :p that's what I thought with the sending idea, but even without the garbage bag :p Any ideas as to how much this would cost, seeing as they'd go by weight? I pulled up something around the 12 dollar mark, as it may possibly be being sent from Melb to Hobart. That's for 2 tyres weighing just over a kg... i think.. Cheers

The discrepancies in Auspost's postage costs between the state's is mind boggling and would take forever to get one's head around.

I just recently received a set of forks in a box weighing a total of 3.14Kg and it only cost the sender $11.35 postage, yet I have sent items that weigh less than that but I have been charged more for.

I recently had a pair of 24" tyres sent to me from NSW using the garbage bag method and that had a postage charge of $10..

So your guess is as good as mine.. Just allow yourself $15 for post and any change left over is a bonus..

**End Rant**
