Pumped from the World Cup we are now working on the first two rounds of the MountainX National Series. They will be at Sydney Olympic Park on October 18+19, held in conjunction with the Festival of Cycling.

The idea is to talk to the local hotels/motels to get a discount for all the overseas (= outside of Sydney) teams, have a party Saturday night and get a lot of spectators to watch.

Help and ideas are always welcome so let us know what you would like to see at the event.

More info will be here and on our website (www.rockytrailentertainment.com) as it comes along.

Cheers,
Martin

It would be cool if we could get monster to let us play in the skate park Sat night (MTBs not normally allowed) or maybe a street session?

Whats the reasoning behind having 2 rounds at the same place over 1 weekend?

I'm not heckling, just seems a bit strange!

2 Rounds on a weekend is because mountain X is loosing money, SOPMMX costs $200 per use, then extra toilets, the crowd control barriers, prize money, commisairs, PA etc. 2 rounds spreads the costs. It would be a shame to loose SOPMMX even though it is the most disliked track it still hold the records for the most riders in an Australian event and even last year when we used the more liked tracks the most riders still came to SOPMMX.

From WORLD TRAILS SITE
World Trail has a rich history in the development of these tracks, and recently designed the world’s only “guaranteed lead change” course at Mt Stromlo, Canberra. These amazing courses allow for multiple lines and variable options for riders during each race, creating an exciting visual for spectators and television viewers. All tracks are designed with no “forced risks” and allow riders of all abilities to utilize simple and safe options when riding

Online rego and rider briefing are now up on our website. If you don't feel like racing but watching alone is too boring for you - why not volunteer and become a race marshal? You get cool flags and a walkie talkie :D
Send me a PM or email if you are keen.

Cheers,
Martin

Is there any indication of times for these races?

When does racing start? When are finals? What time does rego open?

Schedule for both days:
rego is from 8-9
practice from 9-12
heats start at 12 and finals will be starting at around 3 depending on rider numbers.

Was out there today - track looks mighty fine :D

I thought I would add a bit more to that, a big plus to the event sponsors, RED ASS, ANACONDA, ROCKY TRAIL ENTERTAINMENT WSMTB, MTBA,SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK it was a well run 2 days of very fierce competition, not too many serious injuries and some interesting incidents occurring during racing and practice.

Also a big plus to the guys from ANACONDA helping with the mechanicals that went on over the weekend.

Cheers
