The only legal wooden structures are at Mt Coot-tha on the Pipeline trail. Other than that you are SOL. Any illegal stuff is usually a deathtrap of pine pallets and chip board.

Most of the NS is gone but if you want big gaps then it's an excellent place to go. Just finding the trails is hard.
