Geez. Half the time when anybody sees anything out of the ordinary, they automatically call "Photoshopped".
Dave Watson jumping the Tour. "Photoshopped".
Some guy jumping out of a helicopter on a bike. "Photoshopped".
Can you please tell me why you don't think this picture is real... and don't tell me about chunkiness of the pixels, because this is normal in JPEG compression (it's called "artifacts").
It's a funky roof, and this guy got his bike up there and hit it. Why is this so hard to believe?
yeah i reckon it looks real,
not like the guy is busting air from the massive lip ... and it's not like hes doing a matt hoffman 40ft special...
he probably just worked up momentum .. plenty of pedal time in between the huge wall and the lip hes hitting.
I reckon it looks aight ...
and if it is photoshopped then .. hell it's more then possible .. id even climb up their and have a ride.
I think it's real.

i had my suspicions, but then i realise...."dont be so fucking cynical, maybe he did do it" and who cares if it is PS'd. its cool anyway. good on him for hitting that if he did. if he didnt, cant wait till smeone does. i like the aspect of riding on obstacles that you wouldnt normally associate with riding...ie roofs like this, monkey bars (see got milk video) and on play equipment, that really tests your trials skills.
Would be easy to photochop cause his in the blue sky! Could be very easly done!

The light source is in the right spot, and the alaising is spot on.... The photochop cutout is imaculate to.... I vote for real.

I vote that anybody with basic halfpipe skills, a bike and a ladder can do what we're seeing in the photo. Definitely fake.

I'd guess it could be real, but from a technical viewpoint, why the hell would they build such a stupidly big roof like that? Judging by the smaller one, there isnt an attic or anything. Unless its just some rich crazy....

i personally thing it has being fotoshoped or even just paint!! it would be easy because its the sky! and also how the hell would have u managed to get up that fat as sloP! it would have being a bit of a hike, put i supose it is possible!! and 3rdly if you just view in with paint on the rider, you can see itz all like blurry, pixilizated around the edges of the guy! and when i see other jpeg fotos of riders, you dont seen the copy paste, blurry, pixilation around the rider!!!
comes to my conclusion that I beleive it has been altered!! but i might be wrong.....
McBain
27-05-2004, 01:56 PM
Sure, it is blurry around the rider, but it is also blurry around the edges of the roof. Artefacts.
I know - the rider is real, but they've photoshopped the roof in!
Techno Destructo
27-05-2004, 02:06 PM
You fools! It's clearly plain to see that they pasted the sky and trees in! Those trees are SOOOO fake!
and when i see other jpeg fotos of riders, you dont seen the copy paste, blurry, pixilation around the rider!!!
you do actually when its been compressed enough. especially with jpeg!
Dave Watson jumping the Tour. "Photoshopped".
and this thread sounds exactly the same as the dave watson one did

Except that photo almost justified the argument because it was such an incredible thing to see.
This is some guy doing a re-entry off the side of a curved roof. Wow. That's unbelievable!

"Pics or it didn't happen" is going to have to be changed to "Vid or it did't happen"
I think it's possible that it's real. My only question would be how he kept his tyres out of the tile grooves.
nobody ever said he had to get all the way up the slope. he could have just used it as a halfpipe and used maybe only the bottom half.
Archi

I think its photoshopped. plus he's doing it without a helmet on without a helmet on

mmm, quiet the fake photo.
1.its mini air
2.he is on a bmx, he would have had a bumby ride down the tiles
3.how would he get up there and
4.its like impossible to be at that angle whilst whipping when you are so close to the jump

1. you are assuming he took his runup, right from the top of the slope.
2. that does not mean it is fake.
3. you are assuming he took his runup, right from the top of the slope.
4. you are assuming that hes landing on the near side of the spine. he could easily be doing a 180 and landing on the other side.

look at the little gaps in his wheels and in between the frame triangle. anyone who has photoshopped anything will testify that it is difficult and time consuming to go around and select all the little bits of air, leavein the spokes etc in the pic
real for sure and i want to have that roof!
edit: and dylma, that is the kookiest BMX i have ever seen, what with the big wheels and disc brakes and all! use the zoom function dude!
how mad would that be? oh, and a huge foam pit and the end.
lol, a set of rythms on the top of houses!!  :D :D

To stop snow buildup, I'd assume... too much snow can crush houses, having shapes like that would stop it...
BUT, that doesn't account for the big pipe bit in the middle

i dont give a crap about if the guy actually did it :x .......the point is its a sick roof an he could have done it if he wanted to
i believe it is real and the aerial on the roof could be an excuse to say its not real but why would you put an aerial on the roof if it was photoshopped so that is a point towards it been real!

its a sweet pic and im not saying its photoshopped but no helmet and the fact it is a tile roof are not convincing.
If any one has ever been out to mitchellton Winery ...... north of melbourne , the roof looks alot like that ..... i had the same thought as sipping on every single wine they had to offer ....

the main reason i say it would b fake is becuz it looks like the roof of a south east azn embassy, being malaysian ive been 2 a few
and i very much doubt they would let anyone do that on their roof

Well if its not real, i'm gonna go an make it bloody real. Its a madass idea tho, wish they had roofs like that out here. About the tiles, a lil bit of dirt fixes the prob, i kno its a lill far fetched but i'd do it.
BTW the guy jumping out of the helicopter was Fabien Barel on Reunion Island.

The only problem I have with this pic is the size of the rider compared to the rest of the picture.
It could easily be real and if it's fake, props to the photoshopee.

look at the link kn the photo,
the "disc rotor" is the back leg of a fork and a peg reflecting in the light,
chad kagy is tiny,
Chrome rims on an mtb? not likely,
go check out that site. now.
