Pics, too - especially given the rarity, helps people spot them more easily.
Sorry to hear about the theft... devastating.

Where Abouts dude?
Neutral Bay, close to North Sydney. We found a Specialized Rockhopper that they left behind, perhaps it belongs to someone in the building - the police are taking it soon if it was yours.
The whole thing was planned very well. They spraypainted over the cameras outside the building - it looks like they knew the place well.
I'll post pics tonight when I get home from work. I might as well go now, not concentrating on work...

It sounds pro, or at least planned, then, as I first suspected. That's a decent swag of bikes, and someone knew what they were after.
I'm afraid you'll probably never see any of it again.
Insured, I hope.
Yeah, they were pros. I only just returned to Australia and I'm staying with the folks. I haven't organized any insurance specifically for the bikes. We'll see how far home/contents will stretch.
If it doesn't, I think I'll have to give up DH riding for a long time, no spare coin for new ones.

I have friends in the area, and I go to school in Crows Nest/North Sydney. Rest assured if I see anyone riding said bikes, I'll cause them as much pain and suffering as possible. Is there a contact number we can get you on if we have any info?
I hate thieves...
Thanks for the kind words. My number is 0450 343 220.
As you can see, they are pretty rare bikes, so that is on my side. But I won't hold my breath...

Sweet bikes - freaking disaster. I had some luck with home and contents insurance a few years ago - hopefully you can do the same.
I hope the idiots don't try to mix the parts with my crappy Banshee Scream that got stolen a few months ago. That would be a real waste.
I wonder where all of these bikes go? There seem to be a lot of thefts on the north shore lately... Nothing seems to turn up thogh. Must be some sort of a market out there. But where?

Bad luck mate , big loss , hope the home ins goes ok .
Whoever took these either knows you/has seen you obvoiusly...followed you home or knew where you lived + has scouted the place out to see whats needed for the "take" . I have a $50 alarm in my shed which screams the place down at 180dB , enough to scare the shit out of anyone . just an idea as the fact that its insured never detered any thieving cunt !
Hope you get something out of this shit situation .

Dude, you NEED to check the local hock shops. People like this flog shit for $$$, not to ride themselves. Hit up Ebay, hockers, bike shops that do second hand.
I got a bike back once, it's worth the effort.
Fuck the thieves.

johhny's on the money, i've got a mate who's only recently become a cyclist via the fixie craze and was just yesterday telling me stories of dickhead mates he used to hang out with that would steal bikes, any bike, on a regular basis as sell them swiftly for $50 to $100 despite actual worth or condition.
notify local bike shops, give them some pics to put on the workshop walls away from public view, check pawn shops in dodgy areas and skateparks for kids with toys they barely fit let alone could possibly afford new.
best of luck with finding justice.

I hope like hell you get them back,i'm sorry to hear!
I dont think a reward will be necessary,it would be a pleasure beyond measure to get them back to you!
Fingers crossed!

That really sucks mate.
I had 3 bikes worth $28,000 stolen 6 weeks ago so I know where you are coming from.
Check this link out, I just fitted one of these alarm to my garage. It is a like a normal alarm, but also calls your mobile when you are being broken into.

I also welded up a hugh bracked that I have bolted to the wall that I lock all 4 bikes to now. They wont be so lucky next time.

As some other people have said, check the pawn shops etc..
Also check ebay, not only for the complete bike but see if the guy has split it and is selling each part individually. If he is on ebay, try and find out his address and go take them off him.
It sucks that they got taken, I would hate it if it happened to me, thankfully it hasn't yet, but you never no these days :(
Good Luck with the search, Save the $1000 reward and buy the missus a engagement ring ;)
Thanks for your comments. I've been calling pawn shops to no avail, and scanning ebay like a man possessed (for every single part). I've just about compiled a list of bike shop email addresses so I'll send them the pics and the build lists, I'll do the same with mtb clubs.
The wife doesn't like jewellery much, so the reward still stands. She gets upset when I start talking new bikes, but that's what we do with our time so it has to happen I guess. It is possibly the only Trance 4 in Australia as they only bought in Trance 1, 2 and 3 here, so the colour will stand out to spotters. We got that one so we could build it how we liked.
It seems like more than a coincidence that bikes were stolen one hour later from Northbridge http://www.farkin.net/forums/showthread.php?t=140863, which is about 3 km from my place. It also happened in a security building, those bikes were also removed from his garage. I think I'll try and compare notes, see if the buildings are serviced by the same people. It seems to have happened a lot even in this building, lots of people have said that they have had stuff nicked from their garages and I'll bet it is the same guy. Apparently someone even stole the whole CCTV system here once!

Perhaps contact their strata management and find out if some of the same contractors are used across both places.. just a thought

I don't mind, I know what the thief looks like! If you are the guy I posted in the other thread, you won't get the reward (just a trip to the cop shop, then hopefully jail). Anyone else is ok.
I saw that blue one on ebay. Mine's white, but I thought about that one as a replacement.
