Hi, im in year 11 at dickson college (sp?) in canberra and in biology im dong an assinment on heart rate and physical activity. basicaly, im looking for two people entering the angry doctor this weekend that will be using heart rate monitors. all you need to do is record your heart rate at various times during the race. I know it would be a bit of a pain to try and remeber when your concentrating on riding, but it would help me out alot:D. tell me if your interested and i will PM you.

1) there'd have to be a few people doing the dr with HRMs with data logging capabilities, so if you're lucky you could get 6-8hrs of real time data from a couple of people.

2) ask more than 2 people... if you get 4 people but have problems with 1 or 2 people then you'll still be alright....

good luck.

I'll have the Garmin, so you can have elevation, time, heartrate, speed, pace ... I don't think I'll put the cadence metre on though.

I can give you over 5 years of HR data if you want..... or just some select races/events if you want.
Whats your preferred format?

All i need is heart rate from the one race, so that the results can easily be compared. elevation may be helpful though, as it will answer unexplained changes in heart rate.

Hey,

Log into Motionbased dot com and search on "angry doctor" and you'll find some Garmin data from last years race from a number of participants.

cheers.

Tick, there's plenty of good data on motionbased (http://www.motionbased.com/).
I can give you my Polar data from last year's Angry Doc and this year too if you like (to compare?), Polar can spit it out in Excel if that suits and includes alititude.

Some of them, you'll also see plenty of peaks when people go faster to catch someone, and troughs when they are taking it easy, eg when drafting someone on a road. Another thing that will push the heart rate up is the rider eating whilst on the bike. So you're going to get a lot of variation you can't explain :-).
