I have been looking at getting a new seat , the one i have is bog standard on a spec enduro , its a "usual" shaped seat but its getting in the way , i end up with a NUMB ROOT after a big ride , i need one with the split in the middle .
there is quite a few specialized BG (body geometry) seats out there and i have also looked at another few .
basically IMO there is no special art in selecting a downhill seat ... but sitting in a seat for a few hours climbing hills is another thing .
I ride single track, fire roads, a bit of light downhill (where my Crank brothers joplin gets the seat out of the way) .... you get the picture.
i liked the look of the Titec hellbent nemisis prolite .... has anyone tried this seat for "dick comfort" ?
What seat in your experience is a really comfortable All Mountain seat for long rides and on/off riding ???
I dont want to spend $150 on a seat to be back to square one !

The split in the middle makes a big difference.
Selle Italia Flite, or the SLR in the Gel Flow models seem to be pretty popular.
I'm running a copy of the SLR (minus the gel though), I'm a 95kg lazy fat arse who doesn't ride enough at the best of times and it's fairly comfortable.
Served me well on the Sydney to Gong on a 7" freeride bike.
A few other people will suggest Fizik's range, they get a good rap as well, no personal experience other than carpark tests though.
I presume you've already invested in a decent pair of knicks?
I've found SDG Bel Air RL saddles to be quite comfortable. They just seem to have the angles sorted. These models don't have a full split down the middle, but rather a dip in the middle to relieve pressure. I've found them to be the right width, which means my 82kg's is supported by my pelvis/bones rather than the soft tissue which leads to numbness.
Note, I ride with Baggy Shorts with the chamois/knicks sewn inside.
I've got a Specialized Body Geometry saddle on my roadie, and I ride that wearing footy shorts. It's quite comfortable for short distances, but after sitting down for 30km, you start to want to get knicks or a better saddle. Although the Specialized BG is not the most comfortable, it's the longest lasting saddle I've owned.

I grabbed a WTB Rocket back at the start of the year and it's done me well.
Very light and pretty comfy (and a good price).
It is slightly different in shape to the current model (going from the website).
But it also depends on your nicks and riding position. One of my nicks has padding around the perineum, which is good on MTB, but on a roadie (leaning forwards) it feels pretty uncomfy. My other nicks have barely any padding, but are more comfortable since there's nothing to mess up the geometry of the seat.
