Just on the Rocky trail website. They are promoting a 24 hour race for the 14-15th feb 2009. Anyone got any more details. It would be great to see a 24 hour race in sydney after the demise of the Sydney 24 hour. To do any of the canberra options i need to take time of work which is not an option

14-15th feb

what the hell are the organisers thinking! thats possibly the worst time of year for endurance riding.

depends on what kind of year we have, last year we didn't get a day over 28 degrees, but i see your point. i think id rather heat than rain and cold

The tangled web we weave. If shacksta doesn't know anything about it then one would assume that its not at the mundi. Whilst Dargle was a great venue it didn't get off the ground this yearfor BOE. Appin's too tech for a 24 hour in my opinion for it to be a popular event {great track though} so where will it be?

Just a hypothetical has there ever been the thought of putting a race on at Manly Dam

I'm kind of excited by this development, which has me a bit blindsided i must say. A 24 hour close to home, and hopefully a new shiney venue? Could be enough to pull me out of my solo 24 hour retirement after my long one race career :D

A tease of even the 'region' of the race location would be good (hint). At least that way we could get a hint of the type of terrain to expect.

A hint was given in the 4th post, but it's not at Dargle (I also hear whispers that the Sydney 24 hour is not dead)

The same long range forecasters that forecast the drought breaking rain this year are also predicting this summer to be a scorcher!
