Hi everyone,
I am looking for a lift to the 24hrs in Canberra from Mudgee. I will be by myself only with not much luggage and no bike. Also non-smoking if it helps :D
I would obviously pay my share for fuel........
Alternatively I would also be happy if it is only to Yass, or Sydney
Oh, and the date of travel would be the 10/10/2008 anytime
Thanks for help :)

Mudgee to Canberra is a long freaking way. You'd be better off getting in touch with the local bike club and seeing if they know anyone. Alternatively, if you can get yourself to Sydney by the morning of the 10th I can give you a lift from there.

Hey Oddjob,
thats cool. I will keep your offer in mind.
However, I still would be very happy if someone comes up with something more suitable :)
Its just hard to get from Mudgee down to Sydney or Canberra....... :rolleyes:

Both will be a little bit under a km longer than lst year. So about 13.5 for Red and 15.5 for Blue. I think. Maybe. I haven't had a chance to measure them both properly yet.

sorry to sound like an arse, but when will we get to see the laps? i've been hanging out for this race for ages... will the courses be mapped on a proper map as well as (or instead of) the aerial photos from last year?

Dunno, I saw a proof a couple of days ago and it had to go back to the graphics guys because a section was missing. Looks like it will be a hybrid lo res topo in theme graphics. If you want better detail maps then just go the the Stromlo Mountain Park website and get a copy from there, that will show you all of the trails on the mountain in better detail.

Call a working bee for Saturday morning - like last year's, with the promise of showing riders the Red and Blue laps after all the work is finished. You'll have complete distances, descriptions and course maps/KMZ files for Google Earth up on the forums by Saturday evening. :D

Online entries will close for CORC's 2008 Scott Australian 24r Mountain Bike Championships (http://www.corc24hour.com.au/index.asp?IntCatId=14) at 1800 (6:00 pm) Eastern Standard Time on Sunday 28 September.
This your chance to be part of the 10th anniversary of the race that started the 24Hr scene in Australia, and to support Canberra Off-Road Cyclists - the club that brought you 24 Hr racing, the 2008 Mountain Bike World Cup and will bring you the 2009 UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships.
Only 18 days to go 'till the gun goes off :)

Hey Russ,
Keeping in mind that entries close soon - how do we change entry details? I need to convert my solo to a 6 and I've sent many emails (to Kim & Timing@Corc) but haven't heard back. I'm beginning to worry that my emails are getting bounced by a spam filter or something.
Can you let me know how to change my entry?
Cheers,
Morto.

I'm in, are any solo riders doing the fastest lap thing before the race starts?

I hate to interrupt, but can we come back to my initial question? :(
I don't want to annoy you, but it's really important to me to find out whether there is someone traveling from Mudgee to Sydney / Canberra or not.
Thanks :)

I would have thought it would be up by now, the graphics people have the maps so I hope this week.
No Berm track on the Red though FYI.

Yes. Mostly.

Nope not me, I am silly but not that silly. I'll be using that time as an excuse to eat lots :p. I would have thought you would be sick of 24's solo and wanting a break (Well I was hoping anyway, damn I am down another position :rolleyes:).

Okay, for those who care;
I solved the problem my way, by flying from Mudgee, via Sydney to Canberra. It's probably not the cheapest option, but certainly the most convenient. For those who come to Canberra;
See ya there at the race. ;)
