Hey Guys

I am upgrading from my santz Cruz Bullit 03/04 model and was wondering between the 2 of these bikes. I can get for around $3000.

I do all moutain with a little freeriding and small bit of downhill. I want something light and that has close to 6" travel.

Please vote and give your opinion, i am STUCK!

Go the Morewood, its South African therefore better in every way than an American Specialized.

Get a newer bullit! i just picked up a near new one (08) full build for 3000. unless you didn't like they way your bullit rode...
Otherwise, go the morewood ;) , so much more hardcore!

EDIT: I would personally go the Morewood mainly because the rareness of the frames. Both bikes are really nice when built with the right spec. I am guessing you would be going to single crown forks on it and try to get it fairly light. The Morewood imo would suit the freeride / DH side of the uses and the Enduro would suit the XC all mountain side. The Enduro is a bit lighter and is capable with minimum 120mm of travel fork so it would suit a pair of Marz 55's which would suit you intended uses. The Morewood wood go as low as 150mm of travel but would also suit a triple crown fork really well. Think about what the main use of the bike will be out of DH & FR or AM & FR. In the end it comes back to you and what you like better, test ride them both and decide. Also you will be able to get a lower price on the specialized because it is a more common brand. Thats my 2 cents and sorry for the rediculous first post.

holy shit there's so many stupid, unfounded, fanboyish "ITS BOUTIQUE LULZ ITZ BETTA!!!!11" comments in this thread. Not a fucking single intelligent response.

EDIT: I didn't realise it was the freeride forum. No wonder

It's probably going to brake jack a LOT compared to the enduro, but from what I've heard it's still a fairly efficient pedaller for a single pivot. They're both great bikes but you really should just test ride 'em and see which one suits you better...

It depends what spec the morewood is coming with, but IMO I'd go the specialized...

I've ridden an enduro for about 16 months now and I haven't had a single problem with it. Descends like a demon, and is a reasonably good climber, except on some REALLY steep stuff the front wheel will pop up a bit. Putting the BB in the higher setting will help this a bit, but will make descending twitchier.

I have an o6 Enduro Expert and I love it!!
I ride mostly all mountain trail stuff, and manage to keep up with my fit bastard weight weenie mates on their five inch elsworthy epiffianys and Titus motolites, and not slow them down too much. however I do bomb down hill runs at T-bar, Nerang and Blackstone reguarly and The Enduro eats it up! i run a DHX.50 rear Shock and a set of Fox 36 talas upfront so i can drop the travel to climb as this and a little extra air pressue in the rear shock keeps her climbing!

I have never ridden a morwood so I cant say the enduro is a better option but you will save weight with it, and I have heard climbing is less than fun with a single pivot bike?

Dont get the new 08 enduro though, get the old 06/07 frame. The one that looks like an SX, but with lighter tubing.

Sx trail?....

Good luck climbing with a granny ring on that Morewood. You'll be spending all your energy lifting your body mass up instead of moving forward.

Regards to the Enduro. People saying the Morewood would be better DH need to have a look at the actual geometry. The Morewoods head angle is 69; the Spesh is 67. The Spesh has a longer top tube, shorter stays and a longer wheel base, all making it more stable in the rough stuff. I also has 15mm more travel.

The Enduro also has a lifetime warranty. Not sure on the Morewood.

The only issue with the Spesh, is that the stock branded shock on the enduro's is shit.

the Enduro is very capable in every way and i strongly recommend it but if you want something special go the morewood
edit: riding an 08 enduro over some rough trails in wales i can confidently say the bike is amazing. its ability to climb and then descend is so far unmatched in my opinion (over there i also rode a scott ransom carbon and a maverick ml8)
i found the fork performed excellent but im not sure how the shock goes as i didnt have it set up for my weight exactly. i guessed.
the scott also rode well but overall i found the enduro to be a better riding bike.
if you want one with the e150 fork and specialized shock than you will have to hunt an 08 or 07 (which are the same as the 08 essentially) as the specialized suspension will only come either on the s-works or as a frame/shock/fork/front hub combo (either both or one of those can't remember exactly)

well fellas, i went the specialized enduro expert 07 test bike, used for 3 months practically brand new for $2750. The morewood was setup closer to a XC bike. Th specialized Expert come with 6" travel, awesome rims fully decked out for 13.6kgs. This will suit my AM/FR biking. The only downfall it is a 4 way pivot but apparantly the bearings dont wear that much and only cost about $30 each. I am extremley happy with the purchase and thank you all for the highly hilarious reponses. I think the one that said more more travel = more porn is sensational! he he he. Have fun riding fellas!

As long as your take care of it, think of it as a pro, not a con. FSR linkage is a lot more efficient and better braking than a fixed brake single pivot.

Because everyone who said Morewood was too mindless to actually give reasons why. One person effectively gave it the go because he was a Saffa.

The people who said Specialized gave some reasons (and there were three (correction four), not one. Learn to count)

Bloody hell I knew there was a reason I normally stay out of the Freeride forum.

Im posting just to say you made the right choice. I ride an Enduro expert with 36's and dhx 5 and ride exactly the same stuff you said. Mainly all mountian with freeride and downhill everynow and then. This bike is an awesome allround bike. I have raced Cross-country and even hit big dj's on it and it has performed so well.

Happy riding:)
