...in much the same fashion as the 'sold' script, can we please have a 'delete' script?

There are a few hundred threads at least that need throwing out.

It would remove all the 'sold, please delete' threads, though maybe it can be set to ignore the 'sold' section?

I think that there should be a button for people to press to delete there threads and and posts but only if the post hasnt been quoted.

good idea. but i think you should only be able to delete your own threads that are in the trading forums. other threads should be kept because they might be useful to other members ect

what about in your profile you can keep track of your items for sale?
that would be good as, with delete buttons and edit, etc.
my 2 cents.

i may be wrong but i thought you use to be able to delete your own post aswell. the mods must have changed it with in the year or somthing....

A script would be better IMO. Most people wouldn't bother/remember to delete their for sale threads once the item has been sold.. But then I guess if they don't do that, then they aren't going to edit the title either to say "delete" or "sold"

So there's no way out of it...... Unless there's some sort of script that can move inactive sale items i.e. ones that are not replied to in over 3 months, or threads that are older than 6 months (?) to another forum (possibly hidden for all except mods?).

theres a stale forum, anything over 3 months old (i think scott said in a thread a while back) goes to it. it can be dug up later though.

it's pretty tricky this situation.

there are some threads where people want them deleted because they ask stupid questions/do not search and get flamed. these threads should be able to be removed.

but

there are also threads that get the title "please delete" or something similar after the OP has solved the problem. these threads should be kept open for future reference

so what do you do? give everyone the chance to delete there own threads and lose some valuable information with it or just let it stay as it is and have a whole lot of useless threads in the stale forum.
