Hey all, i have just bought a new hub to find its a 32 holed hub while i have a 36 holed rim. Does anyone know if it is possible to lace these two together, and if so, how to do it and what patterns to use?
Will I need to get new spokes for this job if i only have my old 36 holed spokes?
thanks

It wouldn't be worth it for the hassle it would be to do what you have mentioned and the fact that the resulting wheel would not be as strong or reliable as a matched hub/rim combo.
In my opinion you would be better off just getting a cheap 32 hole rim (ie.. sun rhyno lite or similar) and getting it laced properly and once only.
Yes you would need new spokes and you would have to do all the calculations again for spoke lengths etc..

you will need to get new spokes and a new rim if thats what you want to do.

You could do it, But it wouldn't be very strong nor would it last very long, - And you will notice a lot of movement / Flex in the wheel.
New rim is the cheap way out.
