Airport Jumps! OMG Big!

Well these are the legend, the myth, the monstrositys that actually exist. They lie behind Melbourne Airport. 90% of the jumps around the area have been dozed except this 8 pack. It is positivily massive. They havent been jumped in a while but they are pretty far away from everything and REALLY unaccessable.

1st Jump --- 20 foot Gap x 5 Foot High
2nd Jump --- 18 foot Gap x 5.5 foot High
3rd Jump --- 18 foot Gap x 6 foot High
4th Jump --- 17 foot Gap x 7 foot High
btw i actually measured with a measurer.

those gaps are huge, but the jumps are realy nice, looks like someone has put a hell of alot of work into them, theres even stairs!
do you have any pictures of people standin next to the 7 ft jump, id like to see it measured up to someone else.

nice, the gap between the second last landing and the last lip looks very tight. pretty gnarly, every time a see a picture of jumps i think, 'yeah sweet, i'd give it a shot' then i see them in person and freak out... haha

yea, tip trucks and dozers ripping the land up 24/7. Pretty noisy. Hmm... not really well maintained, but meh, jumpable and if you put a wee bitta effort in theyd be quite noice.

I was saying no to both, even though i didnt know it!

Well, yesterday i rode there from my house (40km round trip). I got lost so add 8km to that. Then i found out that the land that isnt normally used is now a landfill area :shock: and there were dozers and tiptrucks working on and on. The only way across to the jumps was straight across the landfill area, so, i rode really fast then they started beeping and me and the tippies were driving towards me. I rode a bit faster and eventually i got into the forest. Its reasonably easy to get into by car, because you can drive off the freeway onto this road. Then jump a few fences and your set. Most of the DJs are gone, there were heaps all just a wee bit smaller than that. You can see where they got dozed.

Mel Ref: 5 D4 (Marker Road) and the jumps are actually behind the quarry area. If you want to see them in the flesh PM me and ill come providing you have a car, because you cant get to Marker road on a bike.

they look sic. perhaps a bit tight for their size to hit em up on a mtb easy but still cool. they look very similar to our secret jumps as the size is the same but each jump is spaced a bit further apart to make them mtb friendly. very nice.

they look, massive evn on camera, definately BMX kinda jumps,look at those landings they look like lips, easy to over jump, i would love to see some one jump them. they would be a hero :D

they look used check out the spray paint on the lips also i agree with kizza, the last of the pack doenst even look like its been formed, tight as gap aswell, i guess you would probably have to see them in person though

Mel Ref: 5 D4 (Marker Road). Park there. Chuck your bikes over the fence going downhill. Go to the far right of that where there is a factory or gas works or something and follow that fence on your right. Follow it all the way down to the creek and you will be able to turn right. Follow the creek along the side until you see the jumps on the otherside. You will have to jump the creek.

There is an MX track on one side of the river with hittable jumps on it too. But its like right next to the quarry.

I might show up to show you lads them. btw. im shit and wont be able to do them.

These jumps are still pretty massive though, the last two look like they just been built? Anypossibillity of whatever was clearing the area shifting the last two closer or something --- theyre the only two with no grass

holy moly i thought they were tractor marks but looking at them again... :shock:

they are seriously big gaps... its almost hard to tell the take offs from the landings, they are all evenly spaced. :shock: :shock:

im with mtb enthusiast hazo is bigger when i go up next il measure th em il measure the main pak i now the lip of the 3rd jump is taller than me and im 6.1 some of the ones that run off the side of the main pak are like that but thers big nasty logs and shit stikin out of them those jumps are built so clean il get photos of hazo now since its been neglected thers just massive holes every where il have piks maybe in the next 3 days
