View Full Version : Looking for a new Hardtail Frame any Ideas?
Im leaning towards a .243 because i want a hardtail that i can use for DH and that i can put DC's on and the warranty will still cover it. If you can think of any other frames please reply. and can you please add some pics or a link that i can get pics from
Banshee Morphine, Banshee Scratch, Snipes Ele-mental.

Well if you import your own your looking at about $1200. Id assume Petri would be selling them for a bit more than that though. But, these ARE the ultimate IMO.

.243 racing frames = heavy arse brick.
There's far better frames out there. Don't get me wrong, they're tough as nails and practically un-breakable but damn, 4.2 kg's or something? That's just stupidly heavy.
Look at the Planet-X Bikes range too dude, they're mint as.

I've just become the Australian Distributor for them. They won't cost more than $1200. The DNA is from the Spooky Metalhead family..
Have u checked out the R9?
I'm actually not doing it through Pushi, i'm setting up a separate company for importing so that shops don't conflict.

You really are a spastic. You constantly pay me out for buying expensive shit for no reason, my frame cost $750.00 you tool. If you even bothered to look at the rest of the bikes mentioned, ie: Banshee Morphine ($1200.00), than maybe you wouldn't have started spitting shit eh? I recommended Planet-X Frames because they're out-standing quality, light and the geometry is awesome on all their frames.

24 bikes le Toy 4 (or a 3 if you can find it). Possibly the strongest hardtail on the market, and reasonably light too. IF you can get your hands on one, apart from being lucky, you will have a far more rare and possibly even better ride than a 243...

Have you ridden one? "Better frames out there", such as what? Planet-Xs that crack in seven places? FAAAANTASTIC. What other bike has:
a) short chainstays
b) OPTION of mtb or bmx bb
c) OPTION of horizontal/vert dropouts
d) A steep enough head angle that street/dirtjumping doesn't suck
e) a cheap pricetag (rrp is what, $660?)
Yeah they're heavy, but at least they have properly thought-out geometry... honestly, what does a short top tube and long stays suit? BMXes maybe, where the wheelbase is super short, but it sucks on a mountain bike.

Hop on over to hcor.net, a few of the guys on there are testers for Evil and seem to have good things to say about it.
Farkin.net's getting our hands on a brand spanking new .243 in a few hours...expect a full test soon. There's been a lot of talk about these bikes, I for one am looking forward to finally getting to ride one to see if this apparently rad geometry can make up for the tank-ass weight :) Pic's of the rig tonight if you're lucky people...

i reckon the .243 racing frame is really cool, even tho its heavy ( 3.5 - 4kg ) its really tough, and its hella good value.

just for the record, a .243 racing frame is listed as 3.4kg and should be around $400.
Without getting into the debate on different geo's, if you're on a budget I'd consider the Avent Jibster & the Da Bomb XLR8 too. No sure they'd give warranty with DC forks tho.
