i got mosnters, ordered a half caliper was wrong one they sent me IS cause its a marzocchi sent it back got the proper one its a hayes direct mount thanks guys got the new one bolted it up bled it put the rotor on the wheel installed teh wheel on forks put the caliper on OOOOOOHHHH FUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK teh caliper is for a 8 inch rotor with a 6 inch adaptor or something, THE FORKS ARE 8 INCH SPECIFIC meaning only the edge of the pads touch the rotor OH NOES i says WHAT AM I GOING TO DO, stop throwing stuff around and swarng my head off and consult farkin, what can i do now, i cant run m4s unless i get a custom 10 inch rotor made up as far as i can see  so if you dont know what i can do can you sugest a company that could make custom rotors if not ill have to get Xts :(

Daver

either way you look at unless you run a hayes caliper you will need a custom adapter of a hope no. 12 caliper?

This was the reason i sold them...

lotec
09-06-2004, 06:54 PM
its a hope no.12 caliper yes i think im going to kill someone, probably the braindead retard who made monsters hayes 8 inch direct mount this is jsut my opinion but that even more stupid than making the dj street 24 inch only and someone needs to be killed

the progressiveness i jsut love it, plush as at the start and ramp up like a bitch at the end, boxxers u have them either hard or soft, ive always been a fan of marzocchi but now i have sworn to never buy anyhting from them again and my friends will do the same, i mean maybe they have a good relationship with hayes but this is taking it too far.....

i will..... ill think about it and get back to you at least a custom adaptor can be made, i might have to go 888s though and yes thats bad, i like my monsters more than 888 and it means forking out more cash, which is what i dont have a lot of at the moment :(

MrPlow
09-06-2004, 07:26 PM
Lote. I would seriously consider a 10" Rotor. That would solve your problem and would look awesome and give awesome braking modulation and performance. Just get it laser cut. If you provide me with some measurements I could possibly do it for you.

Jordy its not living with what i have its living with what i dont have, that being hayes and i would shoot myself if i went out and bought hayes, id think id gone insane or something. Thanks for the offer mrplow ill see what happens and stuff, i heard something about 218 mm being needed but i dont know. Can uou estimate how much it would cost me and yea i did think of the bling bling of a 10" rotor :D

just take your caliper and front forks (or whole bike) down to a cnc guy....for my xt's I had a custom mount made up by gutty an ex-farkiner

Depending on how extreme you go with the design I would estimate under $100.00?

lotec

hmmmmmm ill see if i can get measurements nothing extreme jsut as long as it works and jordy the caliper or forks have to be made smaller not adaptor in between which is the problem mrplow ill definatly get back to you

Its an alum alloy containing tiny amounts of magnesium isn't it?
Not like its gonna create a 2nd sun or anything..

then theres my mates warehouse, containing literally tons of magnesium and zinc..

RANT WARNING

Fiannlly! Someone suggests a good solution!

Now im going to contradict that by saying:

If you had stuck with the shit you had, which you so sinsearly belive you did, you wouldnt have this problem would you? Stop buying shit and ride what you have! And when have you hucked anything bigger than 7', which Boxxers, might i ad, can handle without a problem?

ooohh... where do I join in....

a custom-made adaptor or rotor would probably cost less than $100 and solve your probs.

If you do work for your stuff can you let me know what racket you're in? A BB7, Hope brakes and a Monster T? You can't be mowing freakin lawns to get that dosh. What are you pushin?

theres a saying that goes

"if it aint broken, dont fix it"

it applies quite well to your situation
im not flaming you so dont get that impression

you have to just ride your bike, forget about
what componets it has it
just ride the thing
i doubt you would have broken the boxxers doing
hucking, i serisoulsy doubt your doing 20ft+drops

ok you can tell the difference between modulation of
two sets of brakes, but is the more expensive set really
going to make your riding better? make you go quicker
no way, learn to ride your bike properly before upgrading
stuff just because to upgrade

change parts when they break

anyway just my 2cents

The ignorance and absolute total crap that lotec throws out never ceases to amaze me. If it was me, and I was spending MY money, i would check the brake mounts on the forks before spending a lot of money. Seriously, does he buy his shoes and then wear them to see if they fit? For Gods sake, research before you buy Lotecshithouseconcept, and you might not need to complain.

By the way, if you'd kept the brakes you had (Hayes) they would have fit fine. I have no problems with hayes, they make you stop and thats all i want. But then again, you race so slowly you probably dont need brakes......
