Hey I'm having the exact same problems. Only the forum works and the ads aren't showing either.
EDIT I also can't open off topic threads. It just redirects me to some other site. S:

I was at work and it kept re-directing me to a page that stated the domain had expired.

Get home and all's working good, I'm so relieved.:p

9 times out of 10 when I try and hit a farkin page I get sent to the link listed above. Really annoying.

A site called Farkin.net was appearing, offering items for sale. At first it was selling agricultural machinery and the like, then it changed to MTB-related products after a few loads.

Its gone to sh*t for me now at home too.

Plow directed me to a proxy and I can log on now. This is annoying as Fark!

Yeah I found when I typed in this new address of www.farkin.net instead of the usual forums.farkin.net I was taken to a strange colourful site full of pictures and news articles about mountain biking.

Mine shat out again, sending me to the "other farkin.net" which I posted pics of earlier, and is now working again fine. Grrrrrrrrr.

ok, so people on here have probably already figured this out, but here is my explanation attempt.

When i type 'farkin' to get to farkin i get redirected to a website. Seemingly mountainbike related, but not,.

this site, as i discovered is adxtn.com - or a version of it anyway.
what this site is, is a url hijacker. it, or its developers hack a victim website (in this case our beloved farkin.net) and replace a few lines of code in the header and footer lines of the website code.
When replaced these lines of code redirect links on farkin to their website..
Now i can only summise that there is some sort of financial insentive for them every time they get a hit on their website.
By redirecting all of farkins website traffic to their site they get more money..

I'm guessing that if you opened farkins source code on a program such as microsoft visual studio you would find 'adxtn' written in various places..

of course scott or someone has probably figured this out and is well on the way to fixing it,
and of course there is a possibility that i am completley wrong.

i was ok at work yesterday.
IT pooed its pants though for me at home.
I tried forum shortcuts from favourites, homepage & complete bikes section in sales & each time i was redirected to the already mentioned site.
I tried throughout the evening & even at midnight it was still hijacked.

Glad i'm back on now.

I had the problem for about 24 hours, and this is the first time I've been able to get back on from either my work computer, home computer or iPhone.
Pissed off! What the hell was I supposed to do on the hour's commute back home?!!!

I dont know if this helps but ive been getting this come up for a while now when ever i tryed to get onto the future-edge.net version. Farkin in blocked at school and i used that version. Then all of a suden it was gone. I asumed that the other url was just unnessory anymore and had been ditched.

The most interesting thing of all this is where many of you head to in the first place. I have bookmarked www.farkin.net but it's seems most of you go straight to forums.farkin.net.

Scott and the crew would find this invaluable and I doubt whether advertisers would want to know that you are by-passing the homepage and going straight to forums.

Personally, I hardly ever read the news anyway, but never knew there was an easier way to get to forums:rolleyes: old fart!;)

I haven't had any of the problems being outlined here, perhaps because a) opera opens farkin up automatically and b) because I use farkin.net/forums?

I did have a crack yesterday at what everyone was saying and it seemed to work fine :confused:, it seems quite picky!

alright guys this is the best way to get in. if that domain crap has expired


go to the address bar:
type in www.multilevelmoves.com/procsy

then in the search bar in the multilevelmoves site

type in: farkin.net/forums

there you go problem solved :)

im using it right now

OK, read carefully here. I'm closing this thread now because there's nothing more to say.

- The farkin homepage is hosted at the domain or if you like, address "www.farkin.net"
- One obtains a domain such as this by paying money to register it
- The registration that you then purchase lasts only for a limited time, like 5 years for example (When was farkin.net started? What year is it now?)
- Once the registration expires, the site gets taken down and you have a limited amount of time to re-register the domain before it goes back on sale on the open market and anyone can buy it
- Our domain expired
- Scott re-registered it before anyone else had a chance to buy it
- Everyone's happy and we all live in a mystical fairyland where unicorns eat rainbows and shit out kittens
