Hey just after a little advice from some locals.

I am thinking of moving to Adelaide in the next six months or so. Just wondering what suburbs are good to rent in.
I am after somewhere no more than 20km from the airport (due to work) yet still reasonably close to the hills and some decent xc and dh tracks.
Not after the best burbs just somewhere to rent that is affordable but not too sketchy.

Cheers

Cheers. I will have a look. I was wondering why the South Australian watering hole seemed pretty quiet.....

Anywhere over towards mitcham is pretty good, and is only going to get better when they open up all the new trails there.

Other than that 'legal' riding is limited to Eagle park and the forests. But plenty of riding goes on around the Adelaide hills in general. Anyway, nowhere in Adelaide is too far from anywhere else anyway! I live right near the airport but just ride or drive to the hills to ride- no more than 20 mins.

But if I had a choice now I'd be looking at some of the southern subburbs near the hills.....

Blackwood/Belair and surrounding areas are the go in my opinion. Riding on your doorstep, 20 min to the city, 20 min to the airport... just on the top of the hill.

Or as others have mentioned, if you want to be that bit closer to the city, go somewhere like Mitcham, Torrens Park or Goodwood.

hey how much are you looking at to spend on rent or do you want to buy? How many rooms are you after?

if your looking at a standard mitcham house with 3 rooms will be about 500-700 a week but with that you have mitcham shopping plaza and trainstation so you can do the new dh/xc tracks. where will you be working?
