I lol'd. You've gotta make your own tracks dude, or have mates with their own trails.... where abouts in victoria are you? I would be interested in building some tracks if you wanted to join me, only reason I haven't started yet is cos I can't find a good location..... :)

the answer to all problems is.... porepunkah
awesome little town at foot of mt buffalo and mt porepunkah.
south of eurobin and north of bright on the great alpine road,
due to risk of fires there are fire trails all through the surrounding hills, also single track everywhere.
locals build them, my cousins (who live there) and i build em, they're awesome.
unfortunately they aren't mapped coz they are home made, they are easy to find though, coz they are everywhere, and if all else fails, ask the locals
another plus, less than 100km from mt hotham
honestly, it's a great place, it's where i learned to ride:)

Doongalla state forest, Nick and I have been there once and I have been there a fair few times. Great place to ride got loads of little dh trails with jumps and drops, really fun, some are big some are small. Nick and I are thinking we should train up there for a Group ride day sort of thing with everyone. It's in Mt dandenong. Get off at Boronia station, two stations after Heathmont, then ride up to sheffield road. Don't worry Sharpy, Nick and I will show you when we go some time.

best place i know of for freeride is nerrina in ballarat. plenty of big jumps, small jumps. a 15foot drop to a 25 foot steep as landing, a gulley gap and plenty of other huge shit. and its only around the corner from black hill wich has some huge drops and steep dh. plus a 35 foot huck, road gap. nerrina has some great tracks as well so its a mix of DH and FR. its not too hard to find and if you can find it, just go into one of the 3 main bike shops in ballarat off sturt street and they will give you directions

The tracks at Porepunkah are pretty good.
We also built some up around Mt Samaria, north of Mansfield, a few years back.
