Sweet ride Cave Dweller, you must be fully stoked!

Thanks.

Im totally stoked with it. I only got it together on saturday, my first ride of it was at the state ourimbah race. The brakes are new as well so the first couple of runs was done with minimal brakes :?

As for dorados, well, the dampning system is really nice and i love that, TPC+ is so smooth and i never feel them bob so why pay the extra, but the fucking carbon outers have cracked!!! To all those that run dorados, learn from me and DO NOT use the intergrated stem. Just run a normal stem. In a crash there is a really good chance of cracking the legs if you run the MRD stem.

Tell me about it, dorado parts are super expensive and apparently they don't even make them anymore for the 30mm forks.

Not to worry but, people overseas have been running them with cracks for 2 years. Just got to keep and eye on the crack. Now im running a normal stem it's all sweet, The handle bars twist in a crash and not the whole fork.

awesome bike man

just one question though, why sell you're Avy and not put in on your new rig? :?
from all the hype i hear about the avalanche shocks i would have thought you'd replace that romic with it
or is it that you can only fit the romic in there

Whats the go?!

The romic is 9.5 x 3 inch stroke and the avy is 7.875 x 2.25 inch stroke so it won't fit otherwise i would put it on in a split micro second.

Once i sell my avy i will be getting one for the turner :)

I'll try and get one. It's halfway between the upper and lower crown. The crack stretches about halfway around the fork. They are only 8 months old as well, i can't belive manitou don't stock spare parts.

Jordy - Turner Pride 8)

Dave - Yeh, it rides heaps better than the super 8. The top tube has more of a slope so you gain at least another 2 - 3 inches in standover hieght so it's easier to lay over as there is no top tube pressing against your leg. Also, the shock and the rear swingarm is heaps lower down in the frame so the COG is much lower helping with the cornering. I highly recommend the frame, the attention to detail and the welds are spot on.

Joel - Whenever the F1 turns up you give me a call.

Arnott - Haven't tried warrenty yet as i will have to send the fork leg away and chances are, after 3 months, they will say rider fault seeing warrenty in australia is almost non existant. Im trying to source something from the states at the moment.

I have only had 1 day of riding / racing on it so far and it feels ok. Im a bit concerned about the reliability issues but i will see how it goes as im broke, but the plan is to upgrade to an avy as soon as the budget allows. Nothing rides as nice as an avy 8)

Damn mate that has turned out looking so nice. Probably the most suave bike I've seen yet on Farkin. Excellent spec.

PS. I hold no grudges about you snaffling the frame while I was working out a way to get the money. Honest

Frames with rear shock and hub go for about 4,300?? fix me if im wrong but nobody pays full price these days...

And as for the turner, i got a feeling that theyre gonna be a HUGE company if they sold their dhr's stock like that, that would rule,
Awsome.

Yep, just a bit under $3800 for the frame only. Which may be alot to some people but a dam bit cheaper than a foes, intense, orange etc. This bike is on par with these for sure, turners have a big following in the states. They are this cheap because DHdirect cut out the middle man so you get the saving, otherwise this would cost over $5000 easily.

That DHR is Sick!!!!! I know what u say about the conering, Rule rail rule.

I'm forced to sell my Black 04 DHR due to my commitments with importing Sinister, kinda sad to leave the Turner family but we all have to accept change. (big hill will never feel the same)

So if anyone wants to buy it, it's going forrr chhheap!!!.. Like $3250 with the Romic Shock. (incl postage)

My other Turner is also for sale, It will be cheaper also, just have to modify my sig.

How did the new forks go, hang on, aren't you meant to be doing the 6Ft right now?

O shit!!! Totally forgot, not…….

Sooooooooo pissed off. Had a huge off downhilling yesterday and my knee is all swollen and bruised. Hit a jump, went huge of it but the jump is followed by an off camber berm. Cornered so hard that my front tire rolled of the rim and off i went. Put it this way, the crash was bad enough that the arm guard on my dianese body armour ripped away from the upper, not happy, that stuff costs $400. Thank god i was wearing it or i would have been messed up. The things you do when someone has a video camera handy :-)

Cave Dweller

what made you change the forks to Monsters from Dorados?

Main reason was stiffness and durability. I weigh around 95kg (i am 185cm tall, mostly muscle not fat) so i need something burly and i felt that the doarados were not cutting the mustered for me. I am going bigger and bigger each time i ride, and i am now a poor uni student so i need something indestructable due to limited funds for the next 3 years. I loved the dorados and will be very very sad to see them go when i sell them

The most important thing is how much better my bike rides. I loved the monsters dearly, but the air boxxers are 4 pounds lighter, its hard to describe how much better the bike handles.
