Hey done search but couldnt find anything,
i'm looking to buy a good freeride/dh bike with reasonable travel that runs 24" wheels
i'm not a midget i just preffear the smaller wheels over 26"ers.
or is it possible to buy a set of 24" wheels and put em on a bike?
cheers..tom:confused:

It is easy just putting 24'' wheels on a bike :)

Running disks it will be easy to swap out 26" for 24" but bear in mind it will throw out the geometry of the bike. Depending on the bike it may not be much or it could affect the handling a great deal.

Good luck..

A bloke I know is building up a Transition Bottlerocket with 24's...
I will try and get some pics of it next time I see him.

I would suggest not getting a 24inch specific bike cause you will probably find it isn't real good for freeriding. I'm ridding an Arrow duelie and run 24's for 4x. I really like the 24's as the bike is more nimble, steering lighter, corners and accelerates better. The 24's suck on rocky bits as they do not roll over stuff anywhere near as well as 26's. I did a club DH a few weeks back on 24's as I was running late and didn't bother to change wheels and it wasn't a huge amount of fun. I usually put my 26's back on for DH and freeride over anything rough.

Make sure if you get a bike with 24's that 26's will fit as well so it gives you the option of both.

Other issue is 24 inch tyres there is not usually a huge range readily available at you local Bike shop but if you contact Martin the arrow dude he usually has stock as Arrow makes some really great tyres in both 24 and 26.
