We've all been there (I still am), you've got your bike and your getting into it pulling monos, dropping off two steps thinking that you were the new crusty demon. What's something that you first pulled and made you feel hardcore that you now look back on and laugh?
For me it's being able to ride up (2) stairs and bunny hop off my Mum's front porch (8-10 inches!) I thought I was so cool, I had my mate take photos on his kodak brownie!!
I used to think I was cool when I could wheelie all the way up my street. Now I just think I'm cool full stop.

when i got my repco intrepid!! i thought i was totally madcore when i could ride off the 10cm hight retaining wall in my backyard. (when i say RIDE, i mean front wheel down, backwheel down after. you know, not a wheelie drop!)
man, i loved that bike, then i broke it  did anyone else have one?

It was always mdacore to pop the curvy bit where a gutter slides down into a driveway. You know - the little ramp bit.
Popping phat air off that across the natire strip into the next driveway. Without being collected by a car.
Still my favourite thing to do.

*puffs out chest* Keep trying man - you'll get there.
(note: name edited from grant allen to grant donald, in poor attempt at a joke.)

I 3rd that. There is a driveway along my "dog walk route" that has that creamy garden curbing either side, very cool to gap. Oh yeah and wheeling the length of the soccer pitch, going past the goal and into the bushes just because there was no more grass left made me feel cool as. <That was just this morning.

the thing that made me feel cool...when i was in the US my mate and i showed our biking video (got milk- check out the phat vids section) to a bunch of people who we worked with at the resort...next thing we knew they wanted to keep on watching and even played it on the BIG screen downstairs in the foyer for everyone to see. its good to now be know internationaly for my riding antics.

I felt pretty cool when I did my first side hops 8)
They were not real sidehops, more horizontal lifts, but I could do them off gutters though.
Like the move at the start of this video:

poor dog :)
i was cool for about a week when i did a 2 foot drop on my massive gt palomar before my mate worked up the guts to do it on his dually. then he got into trials and i wasn't cool till i dropped the last flight of stairs at the local council chambers - don't know anyone else who's done that... they are shit stairs, four flights, steep as with 8 steps to a flight and about a wheelbase between each flight. when i can launch from the top and land use the last set as a landing, then i'll be paralysed...

Hahah nice thread. Rear wheel hops for me. I thought i was some kind of trials master
On the road my workplace is on, it has fairly tall gutters, 2 driveways fairly close to each other, and then a road... so you can come accross the road with a bit of speed, and launch up one footpath ramp, and land on the downramp. There's about 5-6 foot gap between the up and the down, and 3 of them, so it's heaps of fun belting to work on the rigid commuter, and "tripleing" the gutter ramps. It took me a few weeks to get it right, but I can jump the smoothly now. I felt pretty hardcore when I cleared them all the first time 8) (and that was only a few months ago!) It's a good way to have fun before the boredom that is work.

On that note, riding down the ramps on the Milson's Point end of the Harbour Bridge commute 8) You get to show the other commuters your concrete "North Shore" Style.
Except for the couriers who do it on road bikes  Yikes!

When me and some mates of mine used to set up NS ramps of his letter box and all around his front garden using wheely bins :D I felt so madcore then LOL. Generally hucking to flat was the hardest of core.

dropping 3 stairs at my old primary school on a 24" rigid apollo - and bending a cheapo chinese steel crankset in the process (twice).
even before that, a friend of mine got into racing motorbikes at a fairly early age, so we'd cruise the streets on 16" BMXs wearing full face helmets...
Jumpin over the good old fallin down tree while all me m8s had to get off and jump over it!

When i was 10 and i managed to do my first 180 degree skid.
Also powersliding round corners when there is a little dirt or some sand.
It's still quite fun these days, especially when i am in a rush to get somewhere....not so gd for the tyres tho :(

Oooooh I forgot one major one - riding with no hands. I remember feeling like an absolute pimp cruising down the road with my hand in my pockets, even better, sparking up a durrie!
I still do it to. It can be useful to have your hands free while riding.
