Yea lol i have no idea what it is either.... :?

But if i took a guess i'd say it's where they lie down on the board and try and go over or ride the waves or something.
am i right?? :o

skim boarding is basically you take a run up slide on the wet sand back into the surf and catch a wave and do tricks or just stuff arond on the wetsand do tricks

When I lived in Perth myself and my friends used to skim board quite a bit....we loved it soo much we tried to start up a skim boarding company, but alas was a while ago and no interest was around...
used to be able to do some big flips with a 180 twist was my best trick. Great fun, got fit quite quickly doing it to. Mind you, ate some sand occassionally as well...

A mate of mine said there is a surf shop in Bondi that sells them, around the $150 mark....
