Well, what can I say, the weather was shit, the track was muddy as hell, and the light was pretty poor for decent action photography.
With that said, here are my photos from the weekend round of the Vic State Series at Nerrina Ballarat:
http://www.richiev.net/gallery/vicdhnerrina/index.php
There are 300+ photos in the gallery across 4 pages of thumbnails.
I think one picture worth specifically mentioning is this one:

I don't know who it is but he had number plate #55
Enjoy...

That is a classic "It's all gone horribly, horribly wrong" moment. Great photos considering the conditions mate, you're a brave man using a camera in the rain for 300+ photos, propers.

Nice snappin RitchieV, thanks for braving the elements to shoot the race. Great shots under the conditions. Glad I didn't make the pages, I would rather forget the day now that I am warm again. Cheers, Moorey. ClubMUD

Summer series sounds good. From what I saw on the weekend it would be an awesome place to ride when it's not a big mud park :P I may even be able to enter by that time ;)

Will definately be worth it, the rounds we held when it was drier were sweet, lots of big moves over the jumps and mere mortals that aren't elite riders could hit em up.
howd joel (who took the decent stack at the the bomb crater) pull up. i spoke to him in the tents when he was trying to get onto his old man and was tempted to do a hospital run. im sure hes right but how is he? broken anything or just a farkin sore neck?
cheers,
Oram
(for joel if he uses farkin- i was the one at the start when you asked what was wrong with your bike and you said no front brake, then when you stacked i joked that you woulda been right if you had the front brake! and yeah spoke to you in the tent)

have to get out to one of these races. when is the next one? what kinda registration do you need? (im sure there is a thread on this already) how many people normally enter in the hardtail class?
oh nice pics too.
Very nice gallery there, it litterally looks like a creek made of mud in the pics at the top of page 3.

My mate stacked that gap one day when we were out there and planted his head into the ground at tha bottom, spent the afternoon in ballarat emergency, it was heaps more aggressive than that!

thats a shit load of hptoss, there all good, the track looks good and the riders do, but it is very muddy!!!
yeah that area with all the jumps looks sooo mad y so many hardtails by the way?
Because most of the Ballarat riders seem to be crazy insane psychos who do more on hardtails than most people do on duallies (seriously).

Dude, next race will be in summer sometime, rego is standard mtba. Check out our clubs homepage at: www.clubmud.com.au and check out the old race flyers. Summer series will be similar format. As for the hardtails, we have johnny dawe (the banshee sponsored rider) for inspiration! Nah, hardtails are much more economical in Ballarat as we dont have any really serious DH stuff. Plus they rock for being able to ride back to the top of the trails. Still plenty of duallie riders though.......like me!
