$1499 very good value. Only thing I dont like is the bars. Way to low.
The bashguards are actually some sort of plastic. Pretty beefy though.

I'd be getting ride of the bell and reflectors pretty quickly if I bought one, but they are very sick looking bikes.
theyre awesome, i love the silver paint!
Farking hell that black STP is nice. But i would change the bars. Sweet value aswell.

Yup had a look at them today in the LBS, very sweet looking rides indeed. Specs look pretty bloody decent to me for that price range.
I think I'll ask for a ride when I go back to pick up my bike

omg the head angle on the black betty is pretty slack i reckon, even with 4" travel forks.
but then again a DJ bike doesnt need much travel

yeah same here... rather similar to when Ford release a tricked-up concept car or something, and you can't help but like the look of it.
the geometry looks pretty sweet, as does the price. And it's a Giant, so you know it's going to be light
Hopefully they've used some decent tubing to build this thing, not the crap they make ACs from.
i think we'll be seeing a lot of these in the future...

hey guys, just wondering if any one knows if a shop in melb stocks them yet? i have been lookin round but no luck..
These things look interesting... I'm about to enter the market for a new bike, shame they wouldn't meet my "all day riding" requirements, as the price is damn right!

Just what I'm thinking! I'm very close to popping down to get one.
One question if someone can answer it - do these forks come with 20mm axles? On these it does not look it, but how much would it be if you did that on purchase? Replace hub, fork, wheel rebuild? any ideas?
Technica
07-09-2004, 02:38 PM
uummm
-fork .... around $800,
-wheel rebuild (plus spokes) ... that price can vary massively so i'll leave that blank
- the hub really depends on what your lookin for in quality ... $150 .... cheap?
is it really that important?

Technica, I am looking at change-over pricing, not simply buying another fork etc. You know, before I buy it, get the shop to swap parts for a 20mm fork. At that time, the change-over price should be reasonable.
So that if needed, I could put the DJ wheels on my DH bike (I would get the same rotors as DH bike).
Technica

ah alright, well i work in a bike shop and i know that when having parts swapped off a bike the shop will only buy then back for wholesale prices.
you'd prolly have to go to a store to find out but it wouldn't surprise me if they tryed to stick an extra $300-500 onto the price for the changes

What is the riding position like for general trail riding? I am 6'.
Can you ride them uphill?
u might want a large if your 6" .... they are more a Street Trail Park bike .. hence the name .. you might want something longer in the TT for climbing ? ... the Large is a 23" TT I think .. something along those lines.

I rode one of these babies today and i'm seriously debating selling my 2004 Craftworks frame and buying one because they seriously are incredible. . .they're awesome value with sick geo and i think i'd take one over any high end cnc beefed up frame.
Awesome bikes !
. . .Going to the bikeshop to see if they can get me a frame tomorrow :)

According to my LBS they will be in most WA stores in about 4 weeks (around the 19th of Oct). This may have changed as I was told this on Thursday? Hopefully they send them out quickly.. I don't wanna wait another 4 weeks for my STP1 I ordered about 2 weeks ago dammit! :P
Thanks
