LOL I remember smokin at school back in year9. Easy as poo to get away with. The teachers have no idea.

You've got to wonder why these people bother to atually go in Year 12 if they are just smokin though.

Actually i can think of reasons. But anyway.

yeah they put a deep voice over on, and some scary music and make these huge generalisations so that everyone in the states parents ask them if they smoke weed.

TT and ACA take sides and in your case it was not the schools.

eg. the yarrawonga teacher incedent a while ago. they took the kids side and made the school look really bad where the school looks like a nice place.

around the traps i have heard about a story where kids had heroin at school. so ACA asked if the police could get the sniffer dog to chase the students down the school corridor.
real smart shit heads(media)

ACA and TT are such utter shit. It is such disgusting journalism. Doesn't mean its not amusing to watch though.

edit - I forgot 60minutes. At least in the time ive been exposed to it (past few years) it has pissed me off immensly. They try to sell themselves as such a serious current affairs program, whereas the stories and the attitude is just bullshit.
And while im at it, 7news is a fuckheadfest as well. No wonder we have such a deluded, racist and narrowminded population, with these TV news services making up the majority of the TV news ratings.

Give me SBS and the ABC anyday (not that they're perfect at all, but for starters, you'd have to rate news from a non commercially driven organization as far more reliable and valuable than that from a commercially driven one)

Like comedian Akmal Saleh said: "Now SBS news, there's no fucking dog riding a skateboard on that is there! "We now leave you with pictures of burning bodies  " "

umm bit of a rant there. Meh.

About 4km away to be exact but i herd all about it and i have some mates who go their and one of them got suspended a few years ago for smoking i dunno if anyone would no him(but i wouldn't post his name), But thats bullshit i reckon Miami High down the Gold Coast should have gotten the award cause their always in trouble with drugs. But Kenmore High isn't a bad school, i got to BBC and last year we had 3 expelled and 4 or something suspended for a Thermos full of pot in one of their lockers, there was cops every were. But they got shitted.

It was Kenmore High Wasn't it???

(RCOH???) the thing was the students staged it because they where fucked and expelled anyway. so why not get some publicity! good on em :D . but maryj is so wide spread that it should be legalized. or at least some laws relaxed or something! i feel sorry for the people that have worked so hard to make it a nice school though. bye bye advertising/endorsment dollars.

Maybe they really want to learn or dont people who smoke up deserve the right? Some people (not every one) have problems at home an find it hard to cope with reality and if they can escape it even for just a few hours it might be worth it? i dont touch the shit myself and dont really desier to but its a bit harsh to label some one as not worth going to year 12 cause they 'smoke up', maybe thier mum didnt have a cold drink and a sandwich ready for them when they came home from school? maybe they have issues that you dont even dream of. and hell maybe they like it?

Well then don't fucking smoke it at school. Take it elsewhere, have a spliff on the way home if their life is so hard. Passing around a bong during recess is no way to deal with their problems - I used to have to fucking hold my breath when having a piss at my school, because the toilets had a 2' thick mist floating around the ceiling. I don't have a personall problem with the shit - but do it somewhere else, where others don't have to put up with it.

Trust me man Im on your side, what I said didn't reallty come across right I guess, it wasn't really that much of a point anyway. What I meant was why bother staying at school to smoke up? Why not just leave? (I mean for say an afternoon, instead of staying for double maths, why not go hang out at seven eleven :P :) ?) Unless of course your like me and know that you can have more fun tripping out in a History class :D

Maybe don't be harsh on people who use drugs at school/work/whatever (not sure if you are exactly or not). People with some sort of drug dependancy might want/need to be under the inlfuence whilst going about their ordinary routine, as a consequence of the dependance; in which case you should probably be compassionate (once again im not really judging what you said). I think I can see what you mean though, just stupid hardcores hangin out in the toilets doing drugs tryna be too cool for school. But then you shouldn't judge people like that really.

Yeah fucking good rant tho.

I loved it when John Saffron went thru Ray Martins garbage and he hit the roof because HE said it was an invasion of HIS privacy :P

I often wonder if the dickheads on TT, ACA and 60min are aware of the damage they can do, or alternitively (spelling??) the people who watch it understand that it is sensationalised entertainment crap, not current affairs journolism?

I think Naomi Robinson wants me........

What a clusterfuck for the school....

But yeah, when I went to school "smoking" meant tobacco

I personally don't think weed is such an evil - what you do in your private dwelling and so on is nobody's right to interfere with. However I do think the education system is something that deserves respect and treatment with proper gravity, and smoking weed at school is blatantly disrespectful to that institution, the teachers, and other students.

Each and everyone involved (students) should be packed off to detox, activities reported to the cops, then expelled. Lets see how they like detoxing locked up in some isolated facility, followed by dealing with the cops, the prospect of going into the rest of their life with possibly a criminal record and no completed high school education. RESPONSIBILITY TO ACTIONS.

danv
23-06-2004, 03:29 PM
I didn't actually see the story, but Floody I do agree that smoking dope at school is definitaley disrespectful of the institution and other people at the school with you. But also, disrespect and disrespctful attitudes are rife in most schools, and marijuana usually has nothing to do with it.

However IMO "packing people off to detox" often is not the solution, and can in fact produce quite negative results. You really don't know the situation at all, so its hard to comment on an effective solution, and it is very questionable that a problem of this nature even exists in that situation. And having a blanket solution for every case is not right, especially one along those lines.

But anyway I guess I agree with you that SOME people in this type of situation do simply need to learn resonsiblity for their actions, but IMO its not a major problem anyway, so who cares.

Its easy as piss for an organization like TT to pay (or call in favours) someone (Kids especially) to pose doing something like this just to make a story. A story that's huge for like a week maybe, and then just dies.
I remember a few years ago there was a story on ACA I think, and they had hidden camera footage of a girl asking to buy drugs around schools and malls (but not actually exchanging the money). They hired the girl gather the footage for a story along the lines of "A Story No Parent Should Miss - How easy it is for your child to buy drugs from outside your local school or shopping center"

I mean obviously if you are a young attractive girl going around asking dodgy looking cunts for drugs, one in five of them will offer to hook you up.

But then the average audience on those shows are so ignorant anyway.

^^^^^media watch are constantly pointing out these kinds of idiotic segments in TT and ACA. The best was when they were conned about a society living in underground tunnels last year. They contacted the people and got them to do "set ups" in old abanden (spelling) factories, then the "tunnel dwellers" revealed the set up the day after it aired

Classic stuff. I'm half expecting the same thing to come out of this story, talk of a set up is already in the newspapers!

danv
23-06-2004, 03:53 PM
Ahaha thats hilarious, its funny that they were actually conned. Speaking of Media Watch, the episode on monday night was hilarious. They identified an actual case of 'cash for comment' in the local paper of the whoop whoop town "Humpde Doo".

Yeah work that out, conned (about people in sewers) into conning (set up in factory for camera men who were scared of sewer muck)!

I swear to catch that local rag out, media watch has it's eyes everywhere....hope to see FARKIN on there one day

I wouldn't blame the camera crew for not wanting to go into a sewer. The heat and the wall coating would make anyone feel sick.

A storm drain on the other hand... Much nicer residence.

danv
23-06-2004, 06:41 PM
Ahaha yeah. Actually living in an a sewer woulddn't be that believable. But living in a storm drain, you couldn't really sleep for long could you? You'd have to keep checking the wether.
