The plane! The plane!
looking for some help. Hopefully tomorrow i will get the cast off my arm after two long months of not being able to bend my elbow or basically do anything fun (and hopefully everything is alright in there and they don't need to put a plate in). And to celibrate, apart from getting blind, im going to get a tattoo. ive got a couple idea's already but would like to see if you guys have any idea's or pics. mtb related would be cool but it doesn't have to be.
cheers

, apart from getting blind,
LOL. Never thought of that if you had your arm in a cast
it's much harder to dance like a bell-end with a cast on your arm :D especially as its a 3/4 arm one

If I had to get a tattoo, I know what I want... but I won't go in to the reasons for not getting one, and thankfully I have the brains to not impulse and get one, the regret it for life.
Anyway, if I was to get a tattoo, I'd get a sprocket (probably a track sprocket, as they're a better shape), most likely an 18t, branded in to my lower back. Then I'd get a tattoo the infinity symbol shaped out of bike chain looped in/around that sprocket. I think it'd look awesome, but it'd be a work of dedication, so I wouldn't get it for a long while, if ever.

going on what rik was saying get a sprocket/chain some part of a bike that will be reconised, sprocket sounds good...heat it up real hot and press it into your back so it slices in like its butter, once the skin is all cut up and the tissue is accessable pour ink into it and rub in so it gets in all the groves...none of this sissy shit
oxy torch...check
tongs.........check
sprocket....check
this is going to be a bit awkward
do you guys recognise this.................i like it a lot!

Excessive amount of beer before branding is needed ;) Although I have a few burns (close enough to brands) that were done to prove the power of the mind, you don't always need alcohol, just a strong will.

I've got a nice reminder from the days of old when pain was the go. Hand + Magnifying glass + yr9 Science teacher = madz0r skin melt on right hand.
We only stopped when it started to smoke. :)
how about the fox head logo?

Rik, I watched someone get branded ( an Infinity symbol between their shoulder blades) & it is a lot different from burns or even getting a smiley.
He was lying face down on the floor, the brander sitting on his arse & people sitting on his legs & holding his shoulders.
Heated up the steel brand in an oxy torch, and when it was applied the reaction of his body was incredible!!!! it took all the strength of the holders to keep him down & the brand was left on for quite a while to make sure it was even & would scar nicely. Compared to that a tattoo is a walk in the park!!!
BTW rik i am not doubting your ability to go through with the branding if you decide to get one, just letting you know it REALLY hurts.
As for tattoo idea, go custom, not flash. Bike related could be cool but you may not like riding forever (on the other hand it will remind of a fun time in your life). And you won't regret getting them, they just become part of you, like freckles.

Hey Ivan .
Get what you like the look of , other poeples opinions are not really important if "YOU" are getting the tat , just remember that you may hate mtb riding in five years and will get sick of looking at a mtb related tat.
even more importantly, when are ya going to get back on that horse that kicked ya off.
give me a buzz sometime and we'll bmx it up and jindalee.
PLEASE don't get a company logo. That is just evil. I saw Seth Enslow on something the other day, showing his chest, and he was like "Ah yeah this is one o' my sponsors - Ford trucks" And he points to this massive ford logo on his body, like 20cm * 15cm. :x
yeah i seen that enslow interview and that was fucked....
the cast came off this arvo and im good to ride in six weeks! i will rule that bmx!
i picked a tat. looks somethin like this... http://www.farkin.net/forums/album_thumbnail.php?pic_id=8769 (http://www.farkin.net/forums/album_pic.php?pic_id=8769)but bigger....it's a "personal" lucky symbol
woo hoo
piece of advice.
Find the tat you plan to have done and print off 40 copies of it. Put one in very room of your house, in you car, in you books, where you work, bottom of drawers, opposite the dunny and everywhere else.
If you don't get sick of looking at it after a year, get the tat cos once you've got it you won't be getting rid of it in a hurry.
what are you trying to say?
tat's are totally removable right? cause ive got some important stuff im going to do with my skin after im dead and i would hate for it to be ruined.
