I want a rear tire for trials and hear the El Gatos are good. I have had trouble with IRCs Mythos XC in the past so am a bit unsure about going for another IRC. Anyone used one, for the rear, that could give me some feedback. MTBR reviews are very mixed.

Man the missiles were awesome! Why dont you use it? Pity the side walls disintegrated on them in about 2 days of sunlight! Going for the El Gato anyway, i can get one cheap so its worth a try.
I will let you guys know how it goes

I find thta hutchinson jumbos are an amazing trials time.
Unfortunately, theyre either a) hard to find, or b) not made anymore.

yeah there mad, but i got a stack of tires i dont use. i had a couple BIG stacks, so im not too confident anymore with cornering. the minimum i now use 2.5 or wider tires now.
its a shame, but im going to let em go. the side walls are at about 90% still
Old skool dude! :D
Here are some of the tyres that are easily accessible and are popular at the moment
Michellin Comp 24
Maxxis Lopes Bling Bling
Maxxis High roller (i run this in a slow reezay)
Maxxis Larsen TT
then there are some good tiogas and try-alls and some of the specialised tyres are the best i've seen and awesome prices too
2.35-2.5 is a good size on a wideish rim
hope this helps

Try an IRC Kujo in a 2.35, i used one for a while, it was really good.
Then i got better and didn't need as much pinch flat protection so i now run a Hutchinson On The Rocks II 2.1 No flats and a wicked tread pattern.
But i'm old school too, like the tire...

as long as the tire is atleast 2.3 (el gato is 2.25) and has a soft sticky tread, then its good for trials! ANYTHING else just sucks in terms of grip, and ive had plenty of moments where i have been thankful for purchasing a michelin or a specialised, the specialised evil twin roller 2.4 is awesome! and cheaper and not as heavy as the michelin.
anything maxxis with slow reezay compound is wicked!
Peace
