i reckon it would make an awesome street bike.
If only it had a front brake it would be near perfect.
And yes, the bling factor is there...

bling yes, but at 800 something euros, + import costs, and custom geo if you want it...

They're amazing...but it's like a 9 month+ wait for the frame.
Quality at its best.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they reviewed those in the new Dirt mag. Supposed to be a bit of a tank I think they said.

Nicolai's are the Ferrari's of the bike world. . .they're about as exotic as you can get really. They're totally custom made - even down to the tubing thickness suited to your weight.
As much as i'd love one - i'd hate to pay so much for an awesome frame than crash and put a dint in it.

The seat tube is the majpr difference!
Evils are sooo ugly. Nicolai's are way too bling for me! Ive got like 40 different nicolai hardtails on my computer.

no the one in the picture although it does not work for me now looks like a bmxtm but with a rectangular top tube instead of a circular one, and a 2mxtb for those who dont know looks virtually the same a an evil imperial

Coincidence? I think not. Dave Weagle (the Evil guy) and Karl Nicolai (the Nicolai guy, who woulda thunk it?) share a pretty strong connection. They are both working on the g-boxx a standardised internally housed transmission system for pushbikes that they are looking to replace chains gears and derailleurs with. Hence you can see some design characteristics shared between the two manufacturers.
Take a look at: http://www.evilbikes.com/2013i_gboxx/2013i.htm
and http://www.g-boxx.org
and finally http://www.nicolai.net/04/imgs/range-04/nucleon-tfr-350.jpg
Mystery Solved!
Any coincindental similarities between the Evil Imperial and the Nicolai 2mxtb are just that, coincidental. Karl and Weagle developed the two bikes before each even knew the other existed and long before they started collaborating on Gboxx.
