well its soo easy, all you have to do it launch the stairs, over the gap in the middle and land on the next set of stairs and use the stairs as a landing :D .
unless you dont know what a stair gap is, it is a flight of stairs with a gap in the middle and then another row of stairs after it.

Basically you have a stairset that looks something like this (ignore the full stops, they're to fill in the space):

_________
..................|_
......................|_
..........................|_
..............................|_____
.........................................|_
.............................................|_
.................................................| _
.................................................. ...|_
.................................................. .......|_______

You launch from the top flat bit, onto the second stair section, basically a stepdown double. In other words, you don't touch the top section or the flat bit in the middle.

Speed + lift/hop + drop nose on to 2nd set and roll out hopefully smoothly = gap.

Screw the lift, forget the hop, just hit it half paced and reef the front up when you're about to hit the second flight :? This is called an S-weeny gap.

WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS STYLE FOR YOU WILL LOOK LIKE A DICK, NEARLY KILL YOURSELF AND END UP GETTING DITCHED BY THE BLOKES YOU RIDE WITH

GO JOHNNY!! nice theory... S. should write a book : Urban For dummies ((it would sell)name copied from xp for dummies etc so no offence ment)

see if you can find a continous set with no break in the middle and try all different types because then your wheels got nothing to drop onto and flip heat over toe, thats what i would be doing anyway

start with something small. it will look rough as guts the first ten times you do it but start angling your front down and get it smoother. then build it up. like everything it needs practice.

also more speed is better than less speed. there is nothing worse than beign kicked from you bike because your back wheel has hit the the flat middle section.

there some real artists in this thread. basically hit it up with speed as if your launching stairs to flat, then as you come over the gap, puch your nose down so you land paralel to the stairs

a name like psyco freerider and don't kno how to gap stairs? Sorry, no offence meant but it just seems a little out of place.

I think it has been covered pretty well so far. You just have to hit it with a bit of speed, you will lauch off the top and hopefully make the distance to make it to the second set.
As it has been said, start small and work up.

Best of luck and don't axe yourself too bad.

Get a old rim and put it on your bike to learn. Speed is you friend the faster you go the smoother the landing unless you over shoot thens it pain.
