tyres - IRC or maxxis

For mostly XC, what would be the best tyres to get - IRC mythos XC 1.95, or maxxis high roller 2.1?
I can get the mythos $80 for the pair, and the high rollers on special for $70 a pair

I'd have to say the IRC's as they'd be that bit lighter than the maxxis tires tires.

Maybe look at a set of maxxis Larsen TT's or mimo's.

Ah hell, just choose whatever is cheaper...

i just bought a set of IRC mythos XC 1.95 today they roll alot better compaired to some of the maxxis and other brands!

They are more like togia comp bmx tires which i use to use when i raced bmx!

They Are Smooth on the road and dirt but hook up for fast cornerin!

Also will find the IRC problerly alot cheaper then Maxxis!

I have tried both IRC Mythos II 1.95 Kevlar and Maxxis Larsen TT Exception 2.0.

The Larsen's utterly slay the Mythos in my opinion.

I rode 75% (the nasty first 75%) of the Mont 24 hour track today (sunday the 11th July) and had been concerned that the Larsen might spin out and lose grip on the firetower climb. Utterly trouble free. Hooked up well, gripped great in the corners and on firetrial, singletrack, damp roots and moist tarmac. This was changing from super tacky compound Bling Blings which hook up brilliantly in anything but mud.

Larsen TT exceptions are about 60 bucks Aust each but well WELL worth the dollars. Light, fast and grippy. What more do you want in an XC tyre?

I've tried the Mythos and they're medium weight but tyre technology has come a way since they first hit the scene.

Go the Maxxis.

maxxis tyres are awesome alot more work go's into them than chung shin tires and i thin you would find most tires are more than likley made by the same ppl.
