As the subject suggests i have a dirt 1/4 pipe near our house carved out of an embankment, maybe 1.5m tall, it has an infinately flat top and the take off is pretty steep so its great for practicing tricks off, anyway, lately i have been trying to get 360's somewhat learnt and im having trouble, i can pretty easily get 180's and land backwards and roll out however i cant seem to progress to the full rotation, i dont know how to describe what im doing/doing wrong so i will try and get a video of my attempts (dont laugh at me) but can anyone who can actually land a 360 give me some tips that may help.
Thanks
Rob

k then..
The mistake most people make is not looking where theyre trying to spin.
tis a fundamental of spins. turn your shoulders into the spin as well.
Commitment is the key. luck.
yeah i had massive issues latley trying to learn oppsite 270s/360s, i'd get to 180 and just stop rotating, i found i had to pick a point to try and look at in the direction i wanted to spin.
once i got that sorted it was a matter of having the balls to air out enough to get enough time to spin the full 270/360.
also turning hard off the lip helps to throw the bike around to get you rotating speed up.
one tip i picked up learning regular 360s was to remember to pick the back end up with your feet, and tuck in in. if gives you a bit more time in the air and looks heaps better too.

yeah, thats where im learning em, and there is another one about the same near my place as well, both are good, i rotate the other way, does it make a difference, im left handed if that helps, makes it look soooo easy on film too, im finding the same thing as Ty, i get halfway round and just die in the ass, one thing that did help was tucking in my elbows, oh well, keep trying 2moro i spose.
Thanks fellas, keep the ideas comin

my friend is having the same trouble but he pivots on his back wheel to get a bit of extra spin.
eventuallyhe wont ned to pivot though.
p.s. this is on the same sort(dirt pipe) of thing that your riding but in benalla

twist your body at the same time and then bring the bike back under (if that makes any sense)

I know its hard, and scary, but try jumping higher...i had this problem, i found i didnt have the nuts to try and get more air, but when i did i found it made a large difference.
Once you can get close, dont just jump off the bike, try and just put on foot down and ride out of it.
Practice is the key.
Good luck!

You have to look over your shoulder and drop your leading shoulder (the one closest to the way you turn) and turn it as well.
The main problem I had was I did the same and learnt rollout 180's so you spot the landing behind you and stop turning your head which stop the spin. You have to keep looking around for a 360 or you will stop spinning.
Once I learnt to keep looking around, which is freaky at first I could pull em :)

my way :-
1. turn into the lip the direction you're spinning this should give you a bit of extra rotation at the start of your spin
2. look where your spinning you have to use your head as it is the heaviest part of your body.
3. turn your shoulders into the spin
4. keep on looking where your spinning
yeah basically the above but if you can do a 180 stall, spin the whole bike around you can slowly build up the angle to 270's. if you fill confident to do the whole 360 in one go great. if not slowly build it up.
good luck

well, i am sorry to disappoint but while practicing today (i've got to 270's) the unforseen happened

i am clearly devastated :D but i'll keep trying after i can be bothered taking a rock or something similarly solid to my wheel.
Good fun though.
Thanks for the tips, i'll keep em in mind!

wow, my wheel looks about that, except that was from landing awkwardly on a jump, what rim is that?

With a lot of things the majority of the trickyness lies in the mind. The best advice when trying something new is just go for it. If you are going to do something, throw everything you can into it, you are more likely to injur yourself doing a half-assed effort then if you fully commit your mind and body. Any part of your body that you can rotate you've got to rotate. As mentioned before look with your head, its a simple trick to get your body to twist in that direction. A lot of your twisting power is from your shoudlers and looking/spotting a landing by turning your head is a good way to ensure that you get your shoulders turning.

When your learning 360's you have to have your head turnerd with your body turning aswell in the same direction. when you are turning in the air keep your body twisted up so that the bike is spinning with you then straighten up as you are coming to the landing. goodluck Brad.
