Hi adam - nothn wrong with a gemini mate. they are a relatively simple frame being single pivot so problems are kept to a minimum. It would be a well suited bike for the style of riding you do aswell - i havnt heard of any issues surounding them either!!

Having said that, im not sure how well suited dukes are to fr :? might be worth looking at a 'frame and fork' option to.

Just to say there is plenty of options for you and the gemini is a goodie :D

good luck :!:

Aren't Dukes an XC fork??

The gemini's are awsome bikes, they're good for ANYTHING.. i've used mine for DJ, FR, DH, Urban/Park stuff, and even XC. They're light, durable, strong, simple.. stuff the kona/s (no offence to Kona riders) gemini's are tops!!

isnt the gem that you're looking at built around 5-6" travel fork?
Correct me if im wrong.
Be aware of that when you upgrade the fork.

An sc sherman might be an option???

Hey adam.

1) that gemini is sold.
2) the duke is an xc fork, and if you keep jumping (didn't know you had started) on them they will snap, and being an o/s part you've got noone to cry warranty on (not like the giant either)...

Yes there are issues with certain frames of that year....see link!
http://www.eastcoasters.com/recall_notices.htm

10/29/02 Cannondale Recalls 2002 and 2003 Gemini Models
If you own one of the following Cannondale bicycles, you must stop riding it immediately and contact your dealer:
2002 Gemini 2000, 2002 Gemini 1000, 2003 Gemini 2000, 2003 Gemini 1000 and 2003 Gemini 900

Before buying you should have it inspected by a Cannondale dealer who will have a gauge to measure the frame.
Even though Cannondale Aus said they checked all the frames that came to Aus I found one (recalled frame) the other week as I was in the process of buying a Gem myself.......so they do exist out there.
I just had a look on Cannondale's website and I can't find the PDF that has a picture of the gauge and where on the frame it should be placed so I can't link it for you.....
I'll send it to your email you have listed here at FARKIN plangly ok doky.

That was only for medium and large size frames, i heard that the only problem was dat the down tube was welded on upside down.

Not so, read the link for facts, it's all there.........
Medium/large make up the greater majority of frames made for the Gemini series.
Yes at least 1 does exist as I saw it 2 weeks ago.
Heads up to Matt at Cannondale Aus for the lend of the gauge.
Do your research people.............................

Despite the fact Cedric and a few other Cannondale riders use 4" Lefty's on their Gemini's for DJ and 4x.
The bike in question has run 4" forks during it's time. Infact the pic that was shown is with a 4" fork!
1) that gemini is sold.
Daver mate... Shutup. Everyone talks but no-one's coughed up the coin!
So in conclusion the frame is still for sale.

Correct. I work at one of Cannondale's largest dealers, and yes the frame has been tested with the guage. No it's NOT a faulty frame.
