I called it trials cause i guessed they'd know, but im not a trials rider.
This has to do with getting up onto obsticles. I can manual my front wheel up onto a bench or whatever, but if it is above a certain height my back wheel just clips and stops me into my tracks. How can i get my back wheel up? I can hold balance with my front wheel only up, and rest my pedal on the ledge, but then im stuck :?
Any tips? I'm only a n00b you see.

you can use your front brake or just sorta bunnyhop the rear up without the brakes

lock the front brakes, bring ur weight back, then try and throw yourself up and forward. when u think ur backwheel is high enough let the brakes go and if u time it right u will roll forward onto the ledge.

so i dont need to lock the back as it hits the ledge to hold it there?
/me runs to nearest ledge
thanks guys!
Bottom-line.... you have to JUMP and pull the bike up under you... EVERYTHING else is a variation on that though.

Just adding on to what tu-plang said: when your back wheel is on the side/corner of the ledge, slowly let your back brakes off and pedal slowly too, your back tyre should grip a bit and help a bit more.

practise bunny hopping? get higher hops...
or chuck your front wheel up and without grabing anybrakes throw all your weight over the front end and basically do a bunnyhop without taking the front wheel off the ground and itll bring your back wheel up...
