An EX72 somthing would be a great choice. Its notso much about the rim, more about the quality of the build and spokes.

at $130 it would be better getting the atomlab trailpimps, it they are $100 as someone said, if your in sydney i think BA have them. trailpimps or mag 30s are probebly some of the strongest rims you can get, from what ive heard, but i dont have 1st hand info and i could be wrong.

Trailpimps are damn heavy. Moreso than the mavics or sun ringles. Mite be a bit of overkill, depends on what your doing. Look at atomlabs DHR's if you want a lighter version but still keep the pimpness of an atomlab. Definantly have a look at the mavic 7 series rims. If you only need a lightweight wheelset get a singletrack or somthing. It depends...

what would be a good strong togh rim fr 4x and street and drops and dirtjumpin

master pain

trail pimps are pretty bloody heavy, but so are mag 30s, on a jump bike I would go for something like an atom labs dhr or some mavic rim..

ATM i am running a rhyno lite front and a mavic 521 in the rear and i have found it pretty good. my only gripe is with my riding style (heavy and as graceful as a swallow that has bee hit by a large gold brick with a slice of lemon wrapped around it!) (only when urbaning thought!). depending on how you ride i would definately suggest this set up.

Last time I checked, RRP was ~$150... just because somebody PAID $x for them, doesn't mean that's what they generally cost.

Didn't read the thread, hope this is relevent.

Absolutely SMASHED my Felt XC up some stairs with all my weight over rear wheel yesterday, made such a loud noise that everyone within 30 meters turned to look. I was running Mobsters with thorn proof tubes on a Dice EFD rim. The tyre went flat instantly and I expected to look down to see a dead rim too. Nothing of the sort, I cant believe that there wasn't a trace of impact anywhere to be found on the rim. I know some people don't like them but I can't talk them up enuf! I've never hit anything so hard before and had no damage to show for it.

go the trail pimps there not that heavy and anyway a heavy bike doesnt mean its gone to make it harder to jump or easier like wise for a light bike. learn to ride and u can ride wat ever weight bike u want
