kaleen dirt jumps..... lets fix em (canberra)

ok guys. its time we got together and built a decent dj park within the belconnen area. at the moment im looking at the kaleen dirt jumps which have long since been abandoned but are holding there shape.

this area could look totally sick if we put just 4 weekends into it. i know there are a few keen guys on this forum that want a decent park in this area.

also on a side note these jumps have been here for years so don’t think that if you put the work in they will be knocked down.

firstly i want a list of the people truly interested in helping out then i will post the location and the dates of when it will be happening.

I'll help, i reckon with a few people we could restore the existing jumps in a few hours we'd just need to work on some of the lips and fill in some of the erosion, and maybe work on some drainage because it doesn't take much rain for them to get really muddy. only problem is i wouldn't be able to bring any shovles coz it's like half an hour ride from my place, but i got a friend that lives like 2 mins away so maybe he could bring some :D .

i reckon it'd be cool to keep the big line, build a smaller line so no one complains and then maybe build somethings which aren't just plain jumps, maybe something like what they had on the red bull ride, a spet up to a container then a drop into a landing(but on a smaller scale) maybe.

yeah definately. but these jumps you a really hall some ass so i would love to build a really big kicker at the bottem off the run. (8 foot kicker)

Man, i have just gotten the courage up to hit the first 2 and now u pro's r gonna come and make em bigger j/k, i'm up for helping out, i agree there has to be sum smaller ones, getting a run up for the biggens is just hard work, u can only do it a couple of times and ur tired, so smaller ones would be good, plus any other random cool stuff that can be added.

Are u guys also gonna fix up the dipper jumps or just leave em??

majuras not 15 for me. it's closer to 35. and there's already lots of dj's on the south side, we don't have any around belconnen.

yeah sorry mate but there is nothing decent over here. and i really don't want to travel 30 mins to dirt jumps when we have a site with isn't being starting from scratch. basically it means will have jumps in prime condition very soon. but your more than welcome to come and give a hand.

and rememb er not to get these jumps confused with the dipper which is also in kaleen( the big gully with all the jumps in out nand around it which is on daintree street.)

they're alright. they're fun for just mucking around but the other ones will be better once they're finished. plus nthe dipper is majorly farked and the dirt theres really hard and un diggable.

pretty sure me and big bird are going there next weekend (31/7, 1/8) to start so anyone else helping would be appreciated. i can be there between 9am and about 5 pm both days and i can take one maybe two shovels if anyone else needs one.

Well my rough directions are u follow the road going into Kaleen from Lyneham,(sp) and there in the forest on ur right. I dont know where u can park ur car coz i have only ridden there, but thats my attempt at directions, plz correct if wrong.

yeah you could get one in there. you would have to find the road that goes into the field next to the jumps on the housing side not the farm side. then you could go around the back of the pine forest then get in that way.

well i've seen plenty of kids riding motos at the dipper so as long as it's not like a jet or something they shouldn't mind, plus it's on a main road so they'd probably be used to noise.

we did nothing but jump, they are fun jumps but the only problem is that you have to pedal so much just to do a 1.5 small gap, get a ramp in there or sumthing, the "dipper" jumps i think they are called are fun too.
