Yep, wood is great in the old dirt jumps. You want the skybridge to be at least 12 FOOT high.

upramps wood is good, downramps as they say in pizza-na bro, they are really annoying to land on, dirt is better.

Yep woods is good for dirt upramps it makes it stronger
For northshores make it as big as you want it to be.

Stick with dirt... might be a bit more effort initially, but there's less ongoing maintainence involved. Dirt lasts for a long long time, wood is always prone to problems such as breaking, rotting, vanalism.

NO (stick with dirt. you get more height)
and:
really high and narrow so its a challenge

use wood and dirt, kind of like the lizard rock jump. then you have the benifet of wood and you can change the kick and stuff as you progress, the best of both worlds :D

wood rots and collapses the jump stick with pure dirt.

Dude, DIRT jumps. Hence your meant to make them with dirt, not wood.

Yeah like LTR said DJ= dirt jumps, it's better to use dirt for your jumps as like Rik said "less maintenence" also they tend to last longer because wood usually rots. The wood tends to vibrate aswell causing cracks and hence more maintenence. With the NS i would say have them at least 6feet of the ground as anything less than this is'nt that scary.

dirt is better to build, but dirt jumps get knocked done... some advice i got given was to build a wood kicker and just take it around to natural down ramps, works really well actually (as long as you have a decently made kicker)

if you spend some time and make a wooden kicker, with maybe some metal trusses, you have the advantage of being be to move it back and fowards IE increasing or decreasing the gap.

if ya have some old carpet chuck some of that on it, that can be used for the up and down ramp...

dirt is more solid, an i rekon less sketchy than wood, but wood is good for reinforcing jumps, use it as a brace behind the upramp to hold it up it the jump is steep, save dirt. Also a square of really thin plywood on the lip of the jump is good, holds it up well, bricks in the upramp or carpet also work well, i need to use them cos the dirt is heaps soft where i live. For the downramps usually dirt only, or a pallet is sometimes good in the downramp to hold it up, so long as you cover it in dirt. There mess around and see what suits u best. MTC

Pure dirt is always the go, but also rocks seem to do the trick aswell, if u can position them right and have enough of them.

Never use wood dirt is so much better Wood eventually decomposes and your jumps fall apart.
