Hey i was wondering how every one here digs for dirt when building jumps.

Do you like to dig in the middle of where your jump will be, or at the fron of the jump and make a dig that you pump into when going for the jump.

What do you do?? :?:

We dig next to where the jump will be. That way you can make a table top and then you make them in 2 doubles

i just dig wherever there is some good dirt. the dirt where i live is mostly rocky and dusty so i can only really dig when it is raining as my spot is too far away from the house for a hose.

i usually dig next or near the jump depending on the quality of the dirt.
clay is best for jumps IMO, but it is only good to dig when it has been raining a fair while.

and new@mtbing, are you the tall lanky guy who was on the bmx at windsor on july 2.

with rythems you use the dirt that you dig for the bompits, just dig wherever the best dirt is.

If u are going to do alot of digging you should dig next to it and make a big enough hole to be able to ride into the hole and make an upramp out and u got another jump :P

dig where ever the dirts best..
even if its 20metres away your better diggin a big hole there then using shit dirt and having your jumps just wash away after each rain

If he had red hair it was him i was that guy on the mongoose  . I normally dig at the start of the jumps so the take off is a little bigger and in the middle of the jump.

the best place is before the first pramp to get a pit happening, but make sure it is well drained. then after the first downramp to get a deep rounded pit so that it keeps ur speed up. But remember when you pack jumps also pack the pit not only the upramp and downramp otherwise you lose too much speed. Ohh use clay for upramps so you would probably dig some giant hole somwhere where there is clay. try not to make the hole in the middle of the double to deel otherwise it errodes to quickly!!! :D

Just get the dirt from the pit in the middle of the jump, it would make the jump harder with a gap there

I dig infront, inbetween and after the double. Be careful when you dig in the middle though as it is hard to make the jump higher as it will erode.

This is my first post on Farkin!

welcome to post whoring 101

1) always dig up old threads that everyone has lost interest in.
2) always use one-liners that make no sense
3) NEVER post anything that could actually be helpful
4) ask a lot of questions
5)keep posting inane s*** even after people have pointed out that the thread died years ago.
6) learn as much as you can from your fellow farkiners, as the more you learn, the more you know what makes people tick, thus becoming the true post whore. one who will post anything, anytime, anywhere and be damn sure that it will piss off someone.
