just get a real track frame 2nd hand, alot cheaper and are actualy quite common (the track community sells within it self, they are pretty tight crew so you might need to check ut a race meet to find the deals) if you just want a single speed roadie. one issue is you loose V brame mounts with a track bike but dura-ace twin piviot are pretty powerfull in the dry (for all intensive purposes)

or get a proper CX bike and file the dropouts to get a good chain tension if your more keen on the off-roadieness of the on-one.

Track frames don't have ANY brake bosses. So unless you want to run a front brake and nothing else (Weeee!) maybe a track frame's not the best idea.

Good luck with the on-one.

The Il Pompino is a proper cyclocross bike though Ty, and a very well priced one at that.

track bikes still have a hole in the brace across the chainstays to mount road calipers.

i didn't think it had much CS clearence for proper CX tires +plus mud, i haven't seen one in person though, how much to they retail for?

Using a track frame for singlespeeding can be deathly.
Major lack of tyre clearance, steep angles, and on alot of bikes, pedal/front wheel overlap will be a hazard trackstanding at traffic lights.

The brakes aren't an issue if you're onroad, a decent road brake will give you more than enough power. Even cheapass tektro dual pivots can lock wheels at any speed.

in aus they retail for around $785 frame only, but if u want forks (der), its $950 ish, and carbon forks are $1100 ish. dont quote me.

really fast to ride. i have riddin one and they are really fast and fun. they have quite a bit of clearance and are also quite light depending on how you build it up.

Call this silly bloke here. James (the On-One importer) has heaps of gear for these... everything from pedals to mobile phone carriers for the handlebars (???) May even have second hand one (?) lying around.(03)94315844
