View Full Version : Knocking Down Windsor Council Jumps
hey guys, jsut wondering...
does the council have the right to demolish our jumps that have been built by them?? their arguement is that it is dangerous but its only dangerous cause they built it shittely and used crap dirt.
should we expect them to spend money to fix up the jumps to make them safe or simply to pull them down.
also, do you think the person who said that the track too dangerous deserves a serious beating/
what do u mean?
ofcourse
i jsut wanna know if i should bother complaining to the council.

lol are they going to knock them down?
ummm lol its a bmx track, they can hardly knock em down. on that ch31 show the guys interviewed said all the council did was dump the dirt and not have to worry about anything else. thus avoiding any liability.

The council has all right to knock down THEIR** jumps. You said the council built them so they would be allowed to demolish them... right? If you want some jumps to do jump abouts go up to the council and ask for some land e.g. Where the dirt has been dumped and ask if the mountain biking community can build their own jumps there and for the council not to knock them down. I sent a letter to my council and nothing has happened to my jumps and theyve been there for nearly two months now.

The only time that council would not have "the right" to knock down jumps would be if they were on private property, and even then they may still be able to do it.

Where are the dirt jumps placed? Are they in a reserve? Land that isnt owned by a member of the public is automaticly the councils or someone higher than the concils land. It may not be Their land but they are in control of it arent they?.... Just send the bloddy letter.

Ok heres how it goes, windor jumps are councli approved jumps in an old bmx track. Its a shit surface, like what you find on a bmx track, so if you land anything but dead straight, ur likely to wipe your face all over the ground. I think the major reason theyre getting pulled down is because of all the major work thats been done their over the last few months. Its unfortunate, the lads have built up a nice set of jumps, but because theyre not appoved by the council, were getting the bum steer.
Does it matter? Go build some decent jumps...
